Objective reality means nothing to him. The truth is whatever he thinks up in that haunted void located directly behind those two beady, malevolent eyes of his.

To illustrate, here are some before and after pictures that I “borrowed” from a user on the ball python subreddit. Ball pythons don’t have keeled scales like your garter snake, so it’s a little easier to see the iridescence and how fresh and velvety their new skin looks right after they emerge.
Ball python skin before the shed. Shows dull coloration and damaged scales.Ball python skin after the shed. Scales show much brighter coloration, a dewy, almost velvety texture, and the faint iridescence characteristic of a fresh layer of skin.

Most presidents are caretakers. This one’s a squatter. That which he cannot own utterly Donald Trump seeks to destroy.
Image of text that reads:

“Reflections on a Pool

People ask why this story matters. The reflecting pool story is important because it’s the perfect metaphor for everything Donald Trump has done to our country. He’s taken something that wasn’t perfect to begin with, but was nevertheless beloved, and he has brought it to near destruction through greed, hubris, ignorance, stupidity, and a bottomless capacity for corruption.

Donald Trump is a desperate, seething, vengeful old man who seeks to destroy that which he cannot own.

He’s a narcissist whose own reflection consumes him and eclipses all else.

He’s a liar who ran for office on the pretense that he alone would be the one to “Drain the swamp!”

Instead he has created a literal and metaphorical swamp out of a monument designed to reflect the very symbols that best represent our highest ideals as a free and democratic nation. The parallels between this and the damage he has wrought to our economy, social norms, world reputation, and 250-year-old institutions cannot be overstated. Everything Donald J. Trump touches turns to ruin.”

People wonder why coverage of the reflecting pool is important. This is why. The reflecting pool story is, in itself, a reflection. 🪞

Tim Walz is a true inspiration. 💡 Gonna have t-shirts made up in different colors so I can wear one every single day, for the duration. 💡

🤢🤮 Revolting.
Cartoon features a hand reaching to turn off a light. Caption reads “The Washington Post,” followed by the newspaper’s longtime slogan, “Democracy Dies in Darkness.” Underneath this text is the Amazon smile logo, representing the newspaper’s new ownership by Jeff Bezos.

Joni Ernst attempting to look earnest as she extols the virtues of dying prematurely of a preventable disease or injury so that you can become immortal. Weirdest and most unconvincing pitch for Jesus ever.

Seemed appropriate, seeing as how eggs are a hot commodity these days. Happy Easter. 🐰🥚
On an ominous cloudy day, father and little girl flee carrying oversized blue Easter egg as angry Easter rabbit crests the hill behind them.

How do we reconcile 2023 Neal Katyal, who expressed what a great honor it was to argue alongside his mentor @judgeluttig.bsky.social, with the Neal Katyal who has apparently sold out to the most corrupt, lawless, traitorous president we have ever had in our 248-year history as a sovereign nation?
Neal Katyal’s post on X dated June 28, 2023 post expressing gratitude to Judge Michael Luttig for the privilege of learning from him. Neal additionally states that he takes inspiration from Judge Luttig’s “commitment to the Constitution.”

The stark contrast between this Neal Katyal and the one selling his soul to work on behalf of a convicted 34-count felon and adjudicated rapist begs the question: Will the real Neal Katyal please stand up?? 😳

"Corporate and political and religious psychopaths ruin economies. They ruin societies." ~ Jon Ronson, author of The Psychopath Test
A take on the classic “This is fine” meme cartoon depicting a dog in a hat sitting at a table in the midst of a burning room. In this version, Trump replaces the dog and “fine” is crossed out and replaced by “exactly what I wanted.”

When my husband and I moved from the Monterey Bay Area to the PNW, people told us that either the rain would drive us crazy and we’d be back in a year, or we’d discover our inner amphibians and stay forever. It’s been 24 years this May. We tried to leave once; it was a disaster. Never again.

My mom encouraged me to try weed when I was a teenager. Said she thought it would be good for me. She was a lifelong alcoholic and chain smoker. Her position was that people *will have their addictions* and that weed was less destructive than alcohol and cigarettes.

The yellow ferret owns him, I fear. Just one of his many keepers…
Long-haired ferret like the one worn by the titular head of America’s first broligarchy. Note: A pack of ferrets is appropriately known as a “business.”

I’ve always had my doubts about AARP, but your post inspired me to check to see whether I was scheduled for auto-renewal. Yep. Cancelled my auto-renewal and they wanted me to explain why. Well, since you asked… 😈 I was only too happy to give them a piece of my mind (see image). Thanks, Bill.
Survey response to AARP concerning their decision to partner with UHC. TL;DR: UHC sucks, and so does AARP.
