got some editing to do (both in visuals and writing) but it's coming along...

A screenshot of a text adventure. It shows two text boxes with images of a plesiosaur-like sea monster in them. Below it are a few options and buttons that can be clicked. It reads: "You approach the sea monster. She lifts her head out of the water, towering over you. It would be imposing if not for the gentle smile on her face.

Hydrus: Hello there, kobold. What's your name?

You share your name with her.

Hydrus: Nice to meet you, Hero! I'm Hydrus. I live in the waters around here. The ocean here is turbulent, so I don't suggest trying to swim across to the other island. You could get swept away.

Can you carry me across?
Try to swim across on your own anyways.
Go back."

A screenshot of a text adventure. It shows one text box with an image of a plesiosaur-like sea monster in it, and at the bottom of the screenshot there is also a picture of her open maw. It reads: "Hydrus: I was hoping you might say that.

She flashes a sharp-toothed grin, which might be sinister coming from anyone else. But, somehow, you get the feeling that you can trust the sea monster, no matter how strange the circumstance.

Hydrus scoots backwards a few paces and leans her long neck towards you, gently placing her chin on the sand in front of you. She gazes at you for a moment with a smile, and then parts her lips. Slowly, her jaws begin to open, and her forked tongue lolls out. Strands of saliva stretch between her teeth, and her entire mouth pulses as she breathes. Beyond the back of her tongue, you can see the open hole that leads to her throat, disappearing into darkness."
