Reminiscent of Curtis LeMay's remark that had he lost he would have been tried by the Axis as a war criminal. I suspect that was more his commentary on what he believed to be victor's judgement, rather than personal moral reservations about what he'd done.

Exactly. There's a huge market for all that Nazi stuff, though. I used to go to a show in PA, partly to find books that are tough to find cheap anywhere else, but mostly to morbidly people watch. The number of passionate admirers of Nazi do-dads was very unsettling.

There is someone "in Hollywood" who purchases provenanced Nazi Field Marshall batons. It's a known thing in the militaria world but their identity is zealously guarded. I wish it was with the aim of destroying them, but it almost certainly isn't.

It was a '91 Sport, I was so tuned to its gearbox I could get almost 30mpg on the highway. God, I miss that glorious beast so much. When I stammered out "But I'm from the country, I used it on farms" he answered, "Well, you're not in the country anymore."

I'd hate to lose you guys, but I can understand the bullshit enlightenment poasting being more than a bit much. It's bizarre to me that they wouldn't see cultural and geographic diversity as a good thing, but I guess some people want their superiority club more than a better life for everyone.
