Jeez, that self-indulgent fic has been growing longer and longer every day...

000

Matty @matty-macgregor.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

This, right here, is one more example of how I think fandom etiquette is dying. More than the discourse about fan fic writers, this recent obsession with NOT tagging properly is really becoming annoying.

Is this a safe space for me to say I really dislike Dan Heng's Imbibitor Lunae's form?? I know he's supposed to ressemble Dan Feng, but his clothes look stupid and don't fit him at all for some reason.

Heartsick and unable to move on, he decides to move to a sleepy little town called Shinomura, where he opens a much-needed veterinary clinic. “Very well. And you can call me Hiromi too, I don’t mind.”

“Good. Progress.”

“No, enough, that’s enough fraternising for a while. Let’s just admire the landscape, okay?”

Thoroughly undaunted by Choso’s lack of response, the man stuck out one big hand. His nails were painted black and tattooed rings encircled his wrist. “I’m Sukuna. Nice to meet you.”

This was a cheap trick – Choso’s body reacted immediately and he shook the man’s hand out of reflex, which seemed to please him immensely. “Kamo,” he mumbled, not wanting to supply his first name. The guy’s big rough paw engulfed his hand. He didn’t squeeze especially hard, but Choso could nonetheless feel tightly-leashed strength in the grasp.

“Whatever,” he mutters. He wishes he had a beer or that he could smoke in here. All he can do to keep his nervousness at bay is fiddle with the cheap wooden chopsticks. He swirls them in what’s left of the broth of his ramen, watching sodden noodles and vegetables twirl around lazily. “That still doesn’t tell me what you want from me.”

“I want – no, I need you to testify against Ryomen Sukuna, Kamo-san," Higuruma says.

Choso’s eyebrows twitch. “Didn’t you just say that the two last witnesses were butchered?”

“You’re the only one not afraid to take the stand.”

“Hi. You’re in a state,” the man began. His voice was low and even, mostly emotionless. His eyes took in Choso. “I see they did it again.”

“Did what?” Choso croaked. He swallowed what little saliva there was in his mouth.

“Policemen like to keep suspects in isolation for a few hours to humble them. They think it makes it easier to question them afterwards.”

“You a cop…?”

“No. My name is Higuruma Hiromi. I’m a lawyer.”

Ten years ago, Choso caught his father beating his little brother. Blinded by anger, he attacked his old man and beat him to death. The act landed him in jail, where he met the infamous yakuza named Sukuna, who took a shine to him.

Now, thinking that his life is back on track, Choso meets again with the lawyer who was supposed to keep him out of jail, Higuruma Hiromi. The man shows up with bad news; Sukuna is up for parole in a few months, and Choso’s testimony might be the only thing that can keep him behind bars. Choso reluctantly agrees to testify against Sukuna despite the risks to his and Yuuji’s lives. Forced to move to another city for protection, he finds common ground with Higuruma and feelings soon get involved.
