All-time Great Bob Dylan Quote “I’m afraid to go on the internet. I’m afraid somebody, some pervert’s gonna lure me somewhere.” Also perfectly encapsulates how the average 60 year old felt about the internet in 2001.

I wanted to convey how something can be a fun worthwhile experience even if the vibe is very different from a sing-along greatest hits concert you might get from other artists.

This is what it’s like to attend a Bob Dylan show in the 2020s.

It doesn’t even matter if he repeats a story because he tells them a bit differently every time. And it doesn’t matter if he’s slowed down with age, he’s still willing to sit down and share his wisdom with you and you’re always happy for another chance to be in his company.

And he tells the stories in an engaging way with incredible expression and timing with a gift for evocative, poetic language.

Once every year or so he invites you over for a couple hours to listen to him tell stories - some are about his life and some aren’t, some are dramatic, some are cryptic, some are introspective, some are funny and some are sad.

Imagine you have a great uncle in his 80s. He’s led an amazing life full of adventure - traveled to every corner of the world, been present at numerous historic events, and rubbed shoulders with celebrities and significant cultural figures.

The final session for Blood on the Tracks was 50 years ago today. Here’s guitarist Kevin Odegard’s memory of that night in south Minneapolis.

Great stuff from @JayGabler. This would have made a great chapter in Bob Dylan in Minnesota - The Zimmermans in local media in the ‘20s and ‘30s.

Happy birthday to my pal Gene LaFond. He’s led a fascinating life, including when he traveled the country on tour with Bob Dylan in the 70s and 80s. Hear a bit from Geno here: m.youtube.com/watch?v=2D04...

The Homer Theater was one of several theaters in Hibbing owned by Bob’s relatives. It’s now Homer’s Bar. Pics show it nearly 100 years ago and today.
