Another thing for us all to worry about with the rise of deepfakes: Sometimes AI detection tools can themselves fuel false narratives. Our team at @newsguard.bsky.social tested 5 leading AI image detection tools on 15 real photos about news events. One tool flagged 40% of them as AI-generated.

One interesting finding from our team @newsguard.bsky.social: AI models are awful at responding to news-related prompts.
