Generously this was the spouse of a donor who attended an intimate gathering. Not a great look, sure, but people drag their spouses to all sorts of things. Why you'd stay married to a Ken Paxton supporter though is the real mystery here.

What's really the funniest about all of this is that they chose such a dumb term when an equally dumb, but much more obvious term, "AMERICAN INTELLIGENCE" was just hanging out there and wouldn't require changing the acronym.

Gun to my head if I was asked whether the Dems hit 250 House seats, I'd probably take the under. But I'd definitely have to think about it.

Do I believe a D+15 GB? No. Do I think it is out of the question? No. For reference, if every House district swung 15 points towards Dems, that would imply a pickup of something like 53 seats at least, probably more since in 2024 Dems still won a lot of districts that Trump did by like 2-3 points.

Speaking of gerrymanders, many of the Republican gerrymanders across states took districts that were like R+30 and diluted them into R+10 districts to gain a few more. It will be interesting to see, if the environment is as blue as projected, how many of those new districts fall.

Lotta people jumping on this but the Occam's Razor is this was just some intern who put this together not knowing better, because they're an intern. It's not right, but it's also a pretty forgivable sin at that level. (I agree it's a lot less forgivable if it is someone who knows better.)

Aside from the obvious "insurance doesn't have to be used, if you don't need it," what exactly is the purported fraud here? That ghost people are paying premiums into the system? How is that fraud, and where is the benefit to them?

People resist change and are prone to fear it. The same way voters feared nonsensical things like forced gender transitions under Woke 1, they fear nonsensical things like Terminator coming after them with AI/data centers.

And look that's not a judgement on the goals of Woke 1. I'm all for social justice. But it was not popular with most voters, leading to an immense backlash. Dems just refused to accept this and thought "we just need to communicate better." It was not the case.

Some of this is obviously true. 200 years ago almost every kid learned at least the basics of farming. 100 years ago, kids learned cursive and long division. These aren't needed by most now. But I'd argue something as basic as knowing your own address is probably important.
