Molotov the Magpie and sibling Mikhail. I'm disappointed that i missed focus on these.

Two young magpie fledglings sitting side by side on a wire. Behind them is a tree and a cloudy sky.

The same two young magpie fledglings on the wire, but this time in a frenzy trying to compete for food being delivered by a parent magpie in the left of frame.

If you right click on the "Ask Siri" option in the right click menu, it creates a bugged out floating "Ask Siri" window that floats forever on your desktop. Double cursors!

A screenshot of a me composing this post in an app on my mac. Floating over the compose window is a field that says “Ask Siri”.

How many journalists and editors had to approve this nonsense before it ran?

“How the hack happened

Earlier this year, *Andrew, who works for an Australian company that sells AI products to businesses*, began experimenting with OpenClaw, a popular AI agent software that he used Anthropic's Claude AI service to run.”

Some very poorly made apps install background processes that run all the time on your computer. Even after you close the main app. macOS 27 calls them out, and gives you the agency to kill them. #loveToSeeIt

And, Siri is good now. It understands Australian cultural references, and mundane things like "when will the tram be back online?"

Screenshot of Siri chat. Showing photos of budgies (birds) with a question from me “Is there an Australian politician related to this?”, Siri correctly identifies the budgie smuggler reference and names Tony Abbott.

Parliament is lit up for NAIDOC week. I took a photo of it. www.aph.gov.au/Visit_Parliame...

I installed the iOS beta. This iteration of the glass is much nicer. The idea of /liquid glass interface that gets out of the way/ is realised more effectively here. I think I like it. What works most: thin hairline refractive button borders on every control. Screenshot is medium LG setting.

I found these cursed diagrams being posted by a thoughtfluencer on linkedin.

Two diagrams:
Top: Double Diamond design approach. “Yesterday: Double diamond. The goal was to create alignment through process.”
“Trust the process”

Bottom: Something insane.
“Today: AI in design - the goal is to shape decisions through signals.”
“Signals create leverage”

The latter diagram is littered with meaningless symbols and shapes.

Two diagrams:
Top: Double Diamond design approach.
“Old way: Double diamond. Design decisions are based on opening and closing problems.”
“Trust the process”

Bottom: Something insane.
“New way: Progressive mapping. Design signals determine what moves forward.”

The latter diagram is littered with meaningless symbols and shapes. Every box is labeled “idea”.

“Always has been” meme template, made by me.

“Wait, double diamond is bullshit?”
