just some fresh combat clips, with a few late-game goodies equipped. with the right spacing the grapple hook physics can occasionally swing you to crazy heights. reminder that this is available to play right now (!!) with content updates on the way store.steampowered.com/app/1396870/...

the closest thing for now to replays is this tag system that uploads equipment used during your run. for example if you relied on rocket jumps it is shown to others that you equipped the launcher. not sure if many games use this kind of metadata for their leaderboards but it was fun to implement.

speedrun of a challenge trial from the recent patch. time trials are not a focus but they highlight the game's movement. the past two updates I have made these trials more robust, so they'll be simple to setup in new areas. only thing missing is some kind of replay ghost system...

after a long few days of bug fixing, I have finally uploaded the next ENCHAIN patch, version 0.5.2 "Lanternless" store.steampowered.com/news/app/139...

first person view finger snapping, dealing damage to an enemy zombie in a dark underground room with coffins along the back wall. other zombies prepare to attack in the background.

the player character gliding on a grappled Wyvern enemy, nose-diving through the sky

a view into a brick hallway enclosed by a metal grate along a dark cliffside. the interior is lit by a skull with glowing eyes on the right wall. the interior floor cuts down sharply out of view just beyond the metal grate.

a large underground space bisected by a checkerboard wall acting as the boundary for a time trial. time elapsed is at the bottom of the screen in yellow with best time in green.

bonus screenshots from last week's update. only 1 more day left in the sale

a challenge level from ENCHAIN, hidden in original launch and formally introduced in the new version.
a spiraling tower stands above the first person view of the player character, with wood grapple points and axeleton enemies along the edges

another challenge level.
an orange and purple structure stands centered in view. a skeleton hand halfway towards the structure points towards it with a thumb.
a timer at the bottom of the screen indicates time remaining.

a large blue facade with pointed towers stands tall, with checkerboard geometry in front of it. a yellow pickup sits on the stairway path up on the right. other yellow indicators can be seen in the sky

to improve experiences of the speed trials, you will soon be able to see your best time and replay the challenge, among other things. these trials are pretty open ended, with strategies evolving as you learn more moves and find stronger tools. only a bit more to fix for this QoL update, stay tuned

working on map QoL that didn't make it in before release. first up is listing keys and showing where you've collected them. (minor Crypt lvl spoilers) still deciding how to hint at hidden keys for those hunting their last few. surely, other types of chunky map icons will join too. #enchain #indiedev

ENCHAIN has already been out for almost 2 weeks! early access launch has been great. feedback has been super positive and thoughtful, from what I peeked at so far. thank you for the support! been on a break, excited to jump back in. I will start making the first update (QoL+polish) next week.

a bowhorn enemy, with large fangs and a bony frame, is perched on a stone platform in front of a large red and black rhomboid gate, with a monolithic tower in the background. a weapon pickup sits on a stairway in front of the stairway just off to the right. a dark blue sky overcasts the scene

recent screenshots. early access! just a week away

first-person perspective of a skeleton in a lowpoly environment holding a crossbow-like weapon just fired at a platform in center view. a towering monolith rises far above the player, with silhouetted stair structures to the left. the left hand holds a lantern.

several skeleton enemies approach the player on a rooftop in a bright dreamlike environment

the map menu in ENCHAIN showing the "chasm" area in miniature. (planning to improve this menu during EA)

three zombie enemies surround the player, charging up the handcannon while their legs indicate they are slide-hopping forward
