Final Fantasy 15 is the ultimate example of a game being carried by vibes. I can tell there's all sorts of problems with this game structurally, but hanging out with The Boys makes me way more forgiving.

Silent Hill f Finally picked this back up after a year! I have some qualms with the way endings are handled, and I'm not crazy about the note it ended on, but I still really liked it overall. It's worth at least one playthrough, and there's still plenty to chew on for those who go all the way.

Metroid (NES) The game sounded like my fire alarm was going off most of the time, but other than some technical quirks and the 30 energy thing, I think this game actually hasn't aged that bad. I'd still recommend Zero Mission as your first Metroid, but the originals worth playing at least once.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past Yeah, it's a toss up between this and 4 as my favorite so far. It tightens up a lot of 6's quirks, and the end result is such a vibe. It'll be a while before I replay THIS version specifically, but I'm sure I'll look back on this game fondly.

Love Eternal Horrors beyond my comprehension (I don't get it) Game's really good. It's short, but it gets a lot out of its simple mechanics, and it keeps the surprises coming right until the very end. It won't be for everyone, but it's absolutely worth at least trying.

Boku no Natsuyasumi 2 What a charming little game. I don't know if this'll be a yearly thing (might do Natsu-mon next year) but playing it daily was a real treat. Highly recommend playing through it at least once. Never forget the summer of 75

Ghost in the Shell (1995) Been sitting on this one for a week, but really, what can I say? It's great. Aged phenomenally, gorgeous animation and sound, and incredibly well paced. Simultaneously felt very short while being incredibly dense. Glad I finally sat down and really gave it a chance.

Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend This game smacks of "we wanted this and Calamity Trigger to be the same game" It's still fun and has interesting stuff, but it still feels like setup, and I'm looking forward to the next game cashing some of that out. Those gag scenarios are insane (affectionate)

Rhythm Heaven Groove The menus look borderline placeholder and it's lame the vocal songs aren't in English, but other than that, this is really good! It doesn't overly rely on old stuff, and there's so much to do (I haven't done all of Beatspell yet) If you turn off Lil Miss Reeds you go to hell

Blazblue: Calamity Trigger The story's biggest sin is that it's the beginning of a much bigger story, but it was interesting enough that I actually want to see it through, so it did its job. And pushing the buttons was fun too! Getting 100% was a bit annoying. The PC port is also not very good.

Deltarune (Chapter 5) I think 4 edges it out in terms of narrative BARELY, but you can feel the team learning and pushing the engine with each chapter, and chapter 5 is the most mechanically impressive chapter yet. Oh and it's still fun and really funny. Still on track to be an all-timer. Jarona

I'll put it in the media thread tomorrow, but Deltarune Chapter 5 rips, and it has also helped me learn that the Switch 2 Pro Controller D-pad sucks shit. The hidden boss is already on the tougher end, but that D-pad makes it significantly harder for no good reason.
