I also went ahead and did this with music, too. Having a limit of 9 songs was CRUEL for this one.

"Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane
"I Feel It Coming" by The Weeknd Featuring Daft Punk
"Smooth" by Santana feat. Rob Thomas
"Thriller" by Michael Jackson

The other day, I joined @reecee.bsky.social, Demeech, and Anton Retro on their fun podcast, @perkyplanetpodcast.bsky.social, to discuss the discourse surrounding Nintendo Directs and the balance between hype and responsibility. We also debate Pop-Tarts at some point. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z23l...

What does Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's recent update mean for Mario Kart World? I talk about that in the newest Matthew's Game Cube video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKx1...

Matthew is driving a blue go-kart in the middle with two renders of Mario in a red go-kart sandwiching him (Mario Kart World on the left, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the right). Text on the top says "BOTH Can Co-Exist" with "BOTH" highlighted in green. N64 Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the background.

Despite what Sony wants you to believe, physical video games DO still matter, and I'm joined by @aquatwist00.bsky.social on Matthew's Game Cube to properly discuss why. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kq35...

Matthew is excited on the left while Aqua is presenting on the right. The games Astro Bot on PlayStation 5, Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox Series X, and Kirby Air Riders on Nintendo Switch 2 are displayed in front of a rainbow background. Text is displayed on top saying "THESE MATTER".

Listen, I get it. I and everyone else are sick of soulless suits shoving AI down our throats. But when the discourse reaches a boiling point where you claim anything you don't like is AI or "worse than" AI, I genuinely start to question if you even respect art in the first place.

A thumbnail of a Rick Beato video called "Why Does Spotify Top 10 All Sound Like AI?", with Rick looking concerned on the left, and Morgan Wallen on the right.

Guys, I think I've cracked the NintenDeen code. If the game wasn't an instant success, it was obviously a terrible game from evil greedy Nintendo. If the game WAS a huge success, it doesn't exist because it doesn't fit my narrative. I never want to hear anyone say he's not a grifter ever again.

Today on the side channel, I'm finally addressing the Evil Matthew Stuart in the room. This will be my last mention of the character for a while, and hopefully this video will serve as a good place for people to go to understand my stance on how people talk about him. www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6WN...

The Great Oak Tree is the cornerstone that holds Leafhaven together. At the center of the town plaza, The Great Oak Tree acts as the father of all and represents growth, gratitude, and generosity, offering spiritual guidance for the townsfolk.

A giant tree sits in the middle of a plaza with stone flooring and dozens of smaller trees surrounding it.

061

Matthew Smart @matthewsmart.bsky.social · 17/01/2026

I'm going to be using Bluesky a lot differently from here on out, and in a much more lowkey manner than before. I'm doing this for myself first and foremost, and this'll hopefully lead to better stuff from me moving forward. Thank you to everyone that's stuck by me, and I'll see you in Leafhaven.

Social media is one of the most draining things someone can put themselves through, and that’s with and without the garbage people in power of the platforms that be. These platforms have stopped me dead in my tracks far too many times and have caused me mental trauma, anxiety, dark thoughts, and everything in between. And when you log out of one of these apps in a worse mood than you were when you logged on, something has gone horribly wrong and needs to be corrected immediately. I’m taking one step at a time in order to take my life back, so here’s what’s going to happen.

Bluesky: I’ll only be posting updates from my own end from here on out, whether it be video stuff or personal stuff. I’ve also unfollowed everyone I know on here. This isn’t a personal attack on anyone I was mutual with. I don’t dislike any of you. I’m doing this purely for myself and my own health, because you never know if a single post will alter my brain chemistry for the entire day, and the less time I spend on here in general, the better. I will leave DMs open for anyone that wants to contact me, but do know that you may go days without a response, and if you’ll get a response remains up in the air as I’m not obligated to respond to anyone.

Discord: My time spent on Discord will be very minimal as I much prefer to keep to myself these days, and when I do want to talk, it’s mostly with the lovely people that are helping me make Leafhaven. In most other instances, my experiences don’t leave me satisfied and feel like I wasted an entire day. If you’d like to interact with me on Discord (and you don’t act weird to me), I’ll still be semi-active on the Animal Crossing Rebellion server, a group of great people dedicated to making 3D animations about Animal Crossing. I’ll also be sharing updates about Leafhaven there. I’ll continue to respond to DMs as well, but I’ll only be responding to those I deem to be important.

YouTube (Main Channel): The Matthew Smart channel will essentially be going dormant until the first episode of Leafhaven is finished. I want to dedicate as much time as I can to making this series great, and leaving all my previous baggage behind will only help me to do that. Other videos and live streams will come back once the first episode is done unless there’s a huge emergency that forces me to upload there sooner. Either way, I refuse to make you all wait another whole year for the pilot episode, and I don’t want to take my time for granted anymore. SMG4 closing its doors for good has really pushed me to make this dream come true, because in the end, tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone. So now more than ever, it’s time to seize the moment. This show is going to happen no matter what.

YouTube (Second Channel): Remains unaffected. Matthew Smart Museum will receive new unscripted videos whenever an idea strikes. I have a few ideas that I’m hoping to get over there in the coming months. The channel will also probably go through a name change in the future since the whole archival aspect doesn’t really apply quite as much anymore, but that’s yet to be determined.

This decision is final. I’m truly grateful to still be making YouTube videos for over 15 years of my life now and to everyone who’s been so kind and patient with me. And if I’m going to continue to exist on the internet in the many months and years ahead, I have to be a little selfish and prioritize myself and my health first and foremost. I’m sorry to everyone I might be letting down as a result of this, and I’m sorry to myself for not being the best version of myself sooner. But I think this will be a net positive for the both of us. I’ll be in a better state to make better videos for you, and that’s the number 1 goal. I’m going to live my life to the fullest from here on out, and I hope you all can do the same for yourselves. So until we meet in Leafhaven, God bless, and have a good one. Bye bye!
