I was fine with the ending. It was the last couple seasons to get there

Add that the list where the last couple of seasons ruined the rewatch ability

They must be convinced there is something they can unlock. He played in Hershey with our one assistant coach.

Same thought. Dewar is really disappointing so far

Lapierre feels like he's untouchable

Brother I'm in a gymnastics facility where someone is blaring the radio off their phone full blast in the parent waiting area without a care in the world. Monsters

Maybe Rakell will remember he's a hockey player.

The Crosby line has now been on for each of the last six 5-on-5 goals against.

Pens have gone 17:06 without a shot.

Unless there is a major turnaround, Elmer better be in the lineup next game. Not that he'll turn the team around, but I'm tired of "competition and earning it" double standard for some of these guys. Still mad about Hallander just based on that principle and less the loss of the player.

While everyone clamored to get rid of the aging core, it'll be holding onto Rust and Rakell that were the big mistakes.

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Top early to doom, but there's a chance that everything that had to go right (and did) for the surprise of last season might not happen this year. The first line is disturbingly bad.

020

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

87 looks off, but man Rakell is just kind of floating

000

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Sid line continuing the concerning trend. Doesn't matter who's the third guy on it.

It's funny watching the left wing version of what the right did with Biden. Who according to the was them brain dead but also the most conniving man who ever lived.

Personally, I've distanced myself from friends who behave so cynically because you start to notice it isn't just with politics. They bleed you dry emotionally in all aspects.

New guy can hop in and not miss a beat if he sucks ass

010

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Waiting for them to put him with Sid (not an endorsement but they seem to be reeking of desperation for the top line)

How soon can we start talking about Rakell

110

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Yeah well I hated having to watch him coach

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Good God I hate Edzo. Bouche this bouche that. Always blames the boarding victim.

110

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Dewar and him have been disappointing (yes it's four games only)

000

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Despite my reactions online, I always treat the first several games as not real. Mike Johnston's first season started strong.

020

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

I suspect the caps are amped by ovy retirement announcement plus home opener and even if the pens knew it was coming they got blitzed a bit and panicked. They settled down a bit besides a few stupid plays in the second.

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Getting to the point where Rust is always hurt that it might be ol yeller time.

Crosby got his safety blanket back (not a criticism)

So when do Dewar and Lizotte have a "4th line shift"?

000

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

You forgot saying Bouche over and over again when Boucher is on the broadcast.

020

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Hey the no look passing worked because the Flyers sucked at positioning. Lift your head up.

010

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Feels like a case of the first two games scoring got them high on their own supply. Plus I don't like the instability of line 1

020

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

I appreciate watching a guy out of his depth.

010

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Also thinking they're galaxy braining the roster.

010

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

There's a concept of playing defense. Maybe try that.

010

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Not panicking. It's early. But starting to think the Flyers are just terrible more than the Pens are great.

110

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Add in other guys like mcgroarty that they'll need to really give a chance. He was squeezed. He's 26

020

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

I'll trust the gm/fo in terms of player evaluation. But I saw a player outperforming most of the bottom 6. Could be he was the only one generating interest. He could have requested a trade. Dubas could be doing right for a guy who is 26 and need to start playing consistently for his career.

130

Matthew Oldfield @matthewoldfield.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Hallander will probably just be a guy. Quickly forgotten in this league. My problem is he performed better than most other bot 6 early.

I think I've mentioned this before- anytime I hear discussion about the poor rural America : cars 1 just screeches into my brain
