All my postdoc birdies coming home to roost! Our global study (80k+ people, 60+ countries) shows that religious homonegativity isn't just conservatism or authoritarianism - it’s mostly about traditional gender norms! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/share/author...

Three main findings from my new research on men’s femininity: 1. Femmephobia is everywhere. All men in the study recalled negative reactions when they expressed femininity. www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

Not hard to be outright terrified at the state of science in America, but my heart was gladdened today by community members overwhelmingly opting for survey participation incentives to be donated to charity rather than to themselves, and by several people's enthusiasm about the upcoming study
Screenshot of the Facebook post where community members opted 76% to 16% to donate incentive money to charity rather than keep it themselves.

Science has been replacing religion as the prevailing explanation for how the world works since the enlightenment era. Genuinely curious what is replacing science now?

"Science is under threat. The Pew Research Center found the share of Americans who say science has had a mostly positive effect on society has fallen and there’s been a continued decline in public trust in scientists." From the recent APA letter to scientists

Excellent research here! "When people think that insecure girls is just someone who thinks, ‘oh, my hair isn’t good enough’, but it’s so much deeper than that and I think a lot of the insecurities within girls that they just don’t feel like… a person because of how they’ve been treated."

The University of Michigan has always prioritized diversity when it comes to faculty hiring and research, and that is why it’s one of the best! An excellent op-ed by the one and only @liliacortina.bsky.social ! www.freep.com/story/opinio...

DEI is secret sauce of University of Michigan's success | Opinion
Critics of DEI often suggest that it leads to inferior outcomes. At the University of Michigan, that's just not true.

Despite its name, I've been surprised to find that the Oxford comma is far less common here in the UK than it is in the US.

Despite patriarchy's persistence, growing numbers of men believe they have it worse off than women. And, new research shows this "male victimhood" ideology is most common among men who aren't facing hardship. Which means what they're really feeling is status loss. 1/ www.psypost.org/male-victimh...

Male victimhood ideology driven by perceived status loss, not economic hardship, among Korean men
Research published in Sex Roles suggests that male victimhood ideology among South Korean men is driven more by perceived socioeconomic status decline rather than objective economic hardship.

A graph titled "Cost of Transport" showing the relationship between body weight (in kilograms) and energy consumption for distance traveled (calories per gram per kilometer) for various animals and machines. It highlights that a person on a bicycle ranks first in efficiency.
