Who wore it better?

My local library has dozens of books on the magic powers of crystals, and I'm willing to bet yours does too. Don't get me wrong, I love libraries, but I wouldn't count on them as curators of accurate information.

This is a real photo showing the impact of the unprecedented wildfires in France, published by Agence France Presse and printed in the NYT, and identified as "Likely AI Generated" by an AI-checker. I'm sure no one will use these false positives to justify climate change denial!

Have you actually seen the story? www.cbsnews.com/news/is-ther...
Many Afrikaners believe that they are now the victims of discrimination in post-Apartheid South Africa, and point the blame at affirmative action policies meant to redress centuries of discrimination.

White supremacists in the U.S. and elsewhere have long amplified those beliefs, and have for years made false claims of a genocide in South Africa.

There's been good recent research on the phenomenon of positive photos undercutting the impact of stories on climate change, but we should also note when a story with a positive headline is accompanied by a negative image:
A headline reads "There is no evidence that social media harms children's mental health." Below is an image of a child holding a smartphone, with the light from the phone lighting only the child's face and finger against a black background.

Actually they do worse in one and better in another, with an overall effect of roughly zero.
A table showing that children whose social media use rises at a moderate level have an -.067 score on the Flanker test and a +0.65 score in pattern comparison processing speed. Those whose SM use rises at a high level have an -0.9 score on the Flanker test and a +.18 score in pattern comparison processing speed.
