It sounds like she is frustrated that Disney aren't greenlighting projects that have great scripts. That Disney is being too risk averse. A number of people are talking about how Dave Filoni might do differently than Kennedy but it looks like one of the main issues is getting projects approved.

Yeah, I really hope that script is leaked somehow. It would be amazing to see a non-canon comics adaptation but I doubt Disney would let that happen. So the next best thing is for it to leak.

I hope for a 2nd season but I unfortunately don't think it will happen because of its big budget. The first season reportedly cost $250 million. I don't think Disney will want to give that big of a budget for a 2nd season and I'm not sure if the series works on a much lower budget.

I remember that coming out when I was a kid. I wanted to pick it up but couldn't justify the $3.25 cover price. As that was a lot more than the typical comic of that era. I forget if it had nicer paper or a double size comic. A friend of mine did buy it and I borrowed his copy to read it.

I've tried many times to get a small air purifier into my daughter's classroom in Ontario and I've never been able to do so. There are rules against parents buying things for classrooms as it causes inequality. Rules about what electronic devices can be in the classroom.

However I often see tire dust as an argument against EVs rather than any push for lighter vehicles. In recent years there have been inventions to capture some of the tire & brake dust. I still think we should push for lighter vehicles but I do think eventually these will be mainstream even mandated

We definitely need lighter vehicles and to drive less. However, the other source of pollution is brake dust and EVs have a lower amount of brake dust as they use regenerative braking. My understanding is brake dust is worse than tire dust because it is smaller lighter & lighter so it travels further

I hope this might get a wider release in the future maybe as a double bill with a future re-release of Rogue One. I think there are a lot of fans who would pay to see these episodes in a movie theatre.

It was also informative to the audience about the tone of the show. As a parent of a 10 year old kid who loves Star Wars, it helped make it clear, very quickly that this wasn't a show for kids. That my daughter would have to wait a few more years before she could watch it.

I told my 10 year old daughter the news before she went to bed. She likes Visions but the first season came out in 2021, which is multiple lifetimes ago for a 10 year old. So she has no recollection of seeing any of the shorts that are getting sequels so she had a similar non reaction. 😁

I wish more Star Wars TV shows could be seen in movie theaters, even if they were just little one day events. If I put a list of Star Wars shows that I would personally want to see in a theatre, these 4 episodes would be at the top of that list. It's a shame that it will only play in Japan.

Trump is all over the place but he has talked about creating a new agency called the External Revenue Service to collect all of the tariffs and for it to rival the IRS. He has also talked about using tariffs to pay for tax cuts to income tax. This suggests that he sees the tariffs as long term.

Interesting while I might follow the news for a new ride or new restaurant but for hotels I don't pay attention until I'm planning a vacation. However, when researching a hotel it's probably those who were one of the first that have the most views & are likely to be higher up in the search results

When movies flop, it becomes hard for those involved to make their next project off the ground. I don't think it impacts the quality of the movie (I love plenty of movies that made no money) but just greatly affects what might come next.

Personally, I have an interest in the box office in terms of whether or not a director or cast can produce more movies. In that successful movies generally give those involved freedom to do something else without as many financial restraints.

My 9 year daughter never really took too much to the Super Mario games. They are classics but they didn't click for her. However, she has become a HUGE fan of the Legend of Zelda games having played all the recent modern Zelda games and is slowly going through the back catalog.

I'm curious about how they recreated the holographic scenes from the Star Wars Holiday Special and the creature Fuzzball from Captain EO. Did they have access to old unseen footage or old props from LucasFilm archives or did they just analyze what is already public to create new versions?

The fact that marketing companies often send free merch to accounts to promote shows tells me that they have data saying that it's a good return on investment when it comes to marketing. Also Acolyte wasn't the first time, I've seen it happen previously with other Star Wars shows.

The whole Acolyte advertising campaign didn't depend on sending merch to a few fans. They spent tens of millions on advertising & spent likely a couple of few thousands on merch to fans. For all we know that part of the ad campaign was considered to be very successful for the amount of money spent.

Also while Disney should be advertising to general audiences there are HUGE numbers of casual Star Wars fans who also need to be made aware of shows. I know a lot of Star Wars fans who have seen all the movies but just a handful of the shows who are likely not aware of Skeleton Crew coming out soon.

The point is that engagement on social media means capturing an audience beyond the people following that specific account. There is a wider audience who will stumble across that content that would otherwise be more expensive to reach with traditional ads.

Example I don't follow you on BlueSky, but someone else that I follow either commented or liked you post so that it appeared on my feed. Now I'm commenting on it and the reach will expand. That's what Disney wants when they send people free merch so that it expands beyond the initial audience.

The problem is that it's really hard to advertise to a general audience these days. Fewer people are seeing traditional ads on tv or listening to the radio. Social media is one of the few places to reach some of the general audience.

Even when there's an audience who is already primed to watch a certain IP, they still might not be aware of the release date. Example, I like Marvel movies but I have no idea about their upcoming release calendar. Someone unboxing merch could pop up on my feed because of friends of mine follow them.

The costs of sending people some bags of free merch is tiny to the amount of $$ spent for online ads. I think those people's followers are already the built in audience but when things are viewed at a high rate on social media there's a greater chance of it being shared beyond the initial audience.
