It WAS a good film! Because (as I said a few days ago), the writers chose to make the story a SMALL one, focusing mainly on intensely personal stakes. These are films about dudes in tights, folks… they gotta give us actual human stories if they want people to be really engaged! ❤️

Saw The Odyssey for the second time today, this time on a small, standard 35mm screen (not IMAX), and something struck me: The film is SO very claustrophobic. Small spaces everywhere, showcasing small, PERSONAL dramas. Weird for a film marketed for its ‘big-ness’.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is (surprisingly) a Really Good Movie! Why? Because the creators realized that a good Spidey movie is one where the stakes are as small and human-sized as posssible. Verdict: Go See It!

The bullshit absurdity of the US healthcare system is MADDENING. I need to put my mom, with a literal broken back, into a car so I can drive down and get a piece of fucking paper with a number on it. So I can then call to read that number back to someone else to get an MRI.

Went to see The Odyssey. Interesting film, though surprisingly… brown. And Nolan films have never been the same since he stopped working with Hans Zimmer. The worst part hands down was the *30 MINUTES* of nonstop shitty ads before the film. Regal Theaters really suck; won’t be back. 👎
