A visit to Pevensey Castle in September. Started in late 3rd Century #Pevensey is the largest of the #Roman ‘Saxon Shore’ fortresses. In 1066, William the Conqueror landed nearby to begin his invasion of England, and started a #castle utilising the Roman fortress walls. #pevenseycastle #sussex
