I realize how strange it might seem, for me to return from a summer hiatus only to announce that this might be my last blog post - yet here I am, doing just that. I began this blog waaay back in 2012, right after I'd left fulltime employment in radio to be a stay-at-home dad. I was kicking my already-established voiceover business into high gear and trying to do whatever I could to learn about children's publishing, and thought a blog would be a great way to make myself known to people and share what I knew - and what I could write.

It was never my intention of returning from a hiatus just to announce a hiatus - but it appears I'm doing exactly that. Back on April 30, I wrapped up National Poetry Month and shared the news that our family was moving and I would need to go on a short blogging break until we were setlled; that hiatus turned out to be quite a bit longer than anticipated.

If you've followed this blog for any length of time, you've probably noticed I don't share too many songs when it comes to poetry. More often than not, they are two entirely different genres - although just like some picture books can be poetry while other picture are not, some songs can be poetry (or at least poetic) while most are not.

As I mentioned last Friday (and the week before, as well), I was invited to visit two schools here in New Hampshire over the course of five days, as their writer-in-residence. I spoke to all the classes about poetry and creative writing, and we all worked on creating our own poems right on the spot. But amidst all the goings-on of speaking, writing, and dreaming (and book-signing!), I also had the opportunity to sit down with one of the teachers, Thom Smith, for a blog interview!
