That and I've been out of practice, hence why a lot of the shots I took didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. Also I'm still a bit lousy at directing models, which I need to work on.

In the meantime, I've been focusing on writing video game and movie reviews for a site and I'm gonna be quite busy in August. I do plan to return to shooting soon but gonna take it easy on my terms, especially since I'm still looking for work.

Apologies for the silence as I've taken a bit of a hiatus from doing photography. I did attend a photo walk a couple of weeks ago but was disappointed on how my photos turned out to which I feel frustrated since I can't face to edit them.

Apologies if I've been silent here, just been on a hiatus as I haven't had the motivation to shoot lately as well as dealing things with my personal life at the moment. The cold weather down in Melbourne hasn't been helping much either but hope to get back into the swing of things soon!

That's why with talent, I usually go onto photo walks and workshops. An easy and comfortable way to meet likeminded people.

A bit of yes and no. I do have people who I like to shoot with again and again when I have the chance cause I'm comfortable with them. But other times I try to branch out cause you can't always rely on the familiar and need to diversify and experiment with others, depending on the concept.

Damn. I don't like having to do follow ups cause I tend to get worried that I may be pressuring or annoying others. Part of me should have seen it coming as the replies I got were a bit fragmented as they only gave me details when I asked when they should have told me on the first go.

Yeah, I was shocked when I came across this. When mentioned about this on other places, some people reached out to tell me it was the Money mule scam which I never heard of until now. 4 jobs? Goddamn, that's horrible, mate. So sorry to hear that :'(

The fact that the e-mail was in the spam folder should have been telling but the opportunity was too good not to proceed forward. I felt really insulted at that point as someone who's looking for work and has worked hard to be a photographer. I'm taking precautions going forward.

On a more somber note, I was almost conned via e-mail recently as a "client" asked me to take photos for a family reunion but was being a little scant on the detail. I still went ahead since they were still offering but then I got this reply...

But in the meantime, I am open to do shoots whenever it's paid or TFP as I'm open to all types of shoots whenever it's portrait, cosplay, creative and more. Message me via my e-mail at mattfmurphyphovid@gmail.com or on my instagram. (No timewasters please)

Apologies if I've been silent on here. I haven't had much motivation to do shoots lately, due to a few things in my personal life that has been holding me back and the cold weather hasn't been helping much. I do have a photo walk event coming up in a few weeks, so that'll be something...

Some rather bittersweet news that I announced a while ago but it's for the best as I need to refocus and find a way to revive my passion for photography.

Taking a small hiatus for a while as I've been dealing with some unfortunate problems in my personal life. I do have a shoot coming up in March and got some shots to share soon!

37 today 🎂 Will be attending a photo walk tomorrow evening in the city and then doing a shoot on Monday with one of my favourite collaborators. Hope to post more here soon. Have a good weekend everyone! (And thank you for the B-day wishes in advance!)

Thanks Giuseppe! The timing was limited and there were more of us but glad I caught this. Also Ebony is great to work with.

As much as I wanna do more creative shoots, I also wanna get back into doing cosplay shoots but not within conventions. There's so many that I wanna do but don't know where to start and with whom.

Considering what's been happening with cr0k on the other site, I'm glad I deactivated my photo account and came here. I don't expect the good times here to last long but take in the glory that I can before things change.

I aim to do more than what I did last year without regret, while taking it easy and prioritizing without burnout. Hope you all have an amazing new year and I wish us all luck.

I aim to expand my photo techniques with practice. I aim to take my time to curate what images I shoot work best. I aim to update my portfolio with more diverse creativity. I aim to put myself out there, whenever it’s galleries or magazines.

I don’t have any resolutions going into 2026 but I do have intentions on what I would like to do going forward in building my photo output... I aim to work with new people. I aim to create new ideas for shoots. I aim to make a series of photos, either a new concept or one that I want to revisit.

I know, I've been a little quiet here and I apologise. Just got a lot going on right now due to getting ready for Christmas and also dealing with mental health issues atm. But hopefully I'll be ready when the new year comes around. See you all soon and Happy Holidays ❤️
