Google docs? Or something else?

Do you write in a browser or in a desktop app?

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 17/09/2026

I've built a thing. It's called Falcontext. Word count and goals, progression, writing streaks, sprint mode, synonym checker, prose analysis, focus mode, writing reminders, all in the browser. Would you be interested in something like that? (it's not live yet, waiting on Google, which takes long.)

What kind of tools do you use when writing apart from your text editor of choice?

000

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 10/09/2026

Really? Is this really necessary? You in need of some more money or something?

020

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 09/09/2026

Can’t stop won’t stop 🤣

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 09/09/2026

Yes, my book has a prologue. And yes, you should read it. Here, I'll make it real easy for ya!

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 08/09/2026

Selling wide as an indie author is harder, because you get to stare at countless dashboards reporting 0 🤣

I can be an asshole. I can also be funny, smart, a bit crazy, a lot crazy, supportive, angry, and even a friend. And all of that I can be on here as well. That’s how you know my writing is good. And how you know it’ll keep getting better. Want to join me on this ride?

001

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 02/09/2026

And another 5⭐️ review not even 24 hours later?? This one is even better, because Jasper caught a philosophy/psychology “thought experiment” that got me writing this book in the first place. Absolutely awesome and so fulfilling to see people catch stuff like this! 🔥🔥

Typography is more important than your cover. I’m a sucker for a good illustration or something on your cover, but please think about your typography as well. So many great covers out there that miss the mark on typography, bringing the whole thing down.

So we’re all fantasy authors?

120

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 20/08/2026

Are you a fantasy author or a real one?

120

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 19/08/2026

And just like that... the sale is done! BUT! If you're in the US, you can still grab a paperback with a discount! And this is the best printed version out there, because @SaffronAsteria printed them. They are gorgeous. To top it off, you'll get a note from me along with it!

Can’t sleep, so might as well tell you that Tethered to Darkness is still on discount, but it won’t last much longer! The world isn’t at all what Shen has been taught all his life. His mother tells him that beyond the city walls lies the truth. Magic, dragons, epic fantasy.

I am: an indie author ✍️ I need: more sales (every one counts!) Reason: I need proof for my family that people still want to read a book in 2026.

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 13/08/2026

People have liked my book less, because it features strong women. Well, it’s also printed in the US by a strong woman so maybe buy a paperback so you can stare at it angrily! At a discount, so a cheap stare will do!

I’m back from holiday and I’ve decided to put everything on sale! It’s already live on my site, and will be on the other places as well! Get Tethered to Darkness now, and buy direct if you really want to support an indie author!

I unchecked the auto-renewal for KU, checked it multiple times (including 15 mins ago because my 3 months were done at 9CET) and still they auto-renewed me… Had to “cancel the renewal”. Scammy shit. Anyway, my ebook is available on Kobo (Plus) and my own site again! 🔗 in bio!

010

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 13/07/2026

Also, it has Dragons. And magic. And all the cool fantasy things! And the cover (done by Joe Requeza) is freaking awesome. And it has maps! And it is enjoyable for just about anyone, even if you don't usually read fantasy. So... Go check it out! It's even on Kindle Unlimited!

The story follows him as he finds out new truths about the world, makes new friends, and discovers new enemies. It's definitely a coming-of-age story, with all of the psychological processes that come with it.

100

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 13/07/2026

Shen finds out the world isn't all that he's been lead to believe it is. His mother actually instilled much of this in him from a very early age, and he's now coming to find that these weren't just children's stories.

100

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 13/07/2026

So let's get into it: I wrote a book, I'm very proud of it, it's called Tethered to Darkness. It's a dark epic fantasy. Most people call it YA, I call it a book. The MC, Shen, isn't in the YA age range, but if I hadn't specified that, he could've been, if you know what I mean.

100

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 13/07/2026

I haven't marketed on here lately, because I just didn't want to. Now my FFS people are gonna force me to make something they can help push out into the world. And while this isn't a baby, its emergence was a long and arduous process that I for some reason want to repeat.

It’s my birthday today, so if you’d like to make my day, you can definitely pick up a copy of my book 😉🎉 Hope you’re all having a good one!

Soooooo... #1 in YA Epic Fantasy and YA Dark Fantasy, #3 in YA Coming of Age Fantasy. (Yes, this is in the free category, because it's currently _free_!) (Am I mad? Also yes.) But this is pretty freakin' cool, right??

000

Matt Falcon @mattfalcon.com · 27/05/2026

🫣 Free for three days?! I might have just lost it, but it’s true. Tethered to Darkness is free, for 3 days! People have said some nice things about it: 🐉 Eragon-style Dragon bonds 🤷🏻‍♂️ Believable and human ✨ Unique magic and beautiful creatures

I heard from someone that people like to see the author behind the book. So, here I am, holding my first novel (available on KU and my site (in bye ohhh)). And yes, that is work in progress of book 2 in the background. I am trying handwriting and I am loving it.
