Okay, Trump claims to be 6’4” and 238. One of these guys is Nick Moore? Hmmmmm 🧐

Who would have thought that this guy wouldn’t look out for the working man?

Okay man, it’s a short article, but since you don’t want to read the rest:

That’s what he says here! And he later cautions against the next Dem President pursuing austerity to try to make a bunch of asshole Republicans happy (Republicans who are ready to complain endlessly about the deficit the second that a Dem president is sworn in)

Wage “inflation” for the lowest income quartile from 2022 to 2025 was good. Poor workers were finally making some advances. Rich people decided that should never happen again & worked extremely hard to elect Trump & Republicans to stop it. Austerity is not the answer.

There is always money for those things, though. You can tell because the US is currently spending our tax dollars on those things & prioritizing those things over other things. Debt/GDP is still at manageable levels here in the US. I guess be glad you don’t live in Japan?

I’m aware of how the budget looks. Here is your chart

Consider the possibility that they’re just bad people who don’t give a shit about the country. Also, the article kinda gives the game away in the second to last paragraph:

It certainly sounds like you just prefer Cuomo & Goldman! If that’s true, you should just say that instead of using these side arguments about electability or resource allocation.

Do you tell him he’s wrong about taxes (for the vast majority of people)?

41% of the rental market, right? Not 41% of “the city’s housing”? I’m not sure how much that distinction matters, but maybe it does. Also, it appears to depend on where you are in the city:

Do you know that? Is that a fact? Like, are we doing this? Or do you think your time is better spent focusing on Minnesota stuff instead of your newfound hatred for Mamdani?

Almost 20% of Medicaid is Senior Citizens who are also on Medicare. He wants people like my grandmother (when she was in a nursing home in her late 80s) to go to work (she died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s).

Kathy Hochul can be the first Governor to actually stand up to Trump, at a time when he is historically unpopular. All she has to do is tell NYS Troopers & the NYPD to enforce the laws. Will she do it?

It certainly looks like things got worse for a lot of people over the past couple of years, although Will argues the opposite. I guess he’s relying on the note in the paper about self reporting being unreliable?

It must have something to do with the study’s focus on 36-40 years olds, right? By taking that data and trying to extrapolate across each generation, some weird stuff happens around the time of COVID (which they acknowledge in the paper as a flaw).

That’s from 2022. We need an updated one. 2024 was not kind to that narrative (although hopefully Trump is accelerating the move in the opposite direction)

I guess it’s true that “a record number of people are working 2 jobs”, but there aren’t really that many people working multiple jobs (it’s about 5-6% of job holders… just like it always is)

There are two items in this article: one is a misunderstanding of GDP growth & one is the claim that “70% of global emissions come from just 100 sources”. The second statement is true, but the article says the statement is misleading because the 100 sources includes things like the US military.

It’s very important for conservatives to not call the fascism that’s happening “fascism” Otherwise they might have to consider their own role in getting us here and another important part of conservatism is: zero self-examination.

This is what I could find online: www.kcl.ac.uk/giwl/assets/..., and the following note in the “technical notes” section doesn’t make it seem like age-denominated data is statistically significant here:

Uhhh, you’re comparing Obama’s total in all wars, to just Trump’s total in Yemen (from 2019). So, maybe admit you’re wrong? Or just read the article?

Yes, I do think that the people who believe that “if Dems can just say the right words, they’ll have many years of future electoral success” are full of shit. But I also think those people are pretending to believe that. They are doing a performance for Donors, who very much believe in magic words.

The people who call Democrats “controlled opposition”, the Republicans talking about the “uniparty” and the people who post this dumb ratchet graphic have never been more vindicated:

It is amazing that: 1. The rich people of the world have coalesced around the idea that it does not matter what Party a candidate is from, he’s good as long as he is corrupt & willing to fuck over the poor/middle class 2. They express this opinion freely & everyone doesn’t say “hey, fuck that guy”
