They are currently raising funds for a new boxing ring, which will help them continue offering opportunities for years to come. Please support Forest Fighting Fit’s fundraising here: www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/5308b328ba... A huge thank you to the whole team for having me.

I’m sure many local families already know Forest Fighting Fit, with your children—or perhaps you yourselves—taking part. These clubs are so important for the Forest of Dean, with many kids achieving great things because of them.

The energy and positivity from the kids were amazing and, most importantly, there were so many happy faces. It was particularly great to see the opportunities they are creating for young children and families, giving them a place to learn, build confidence, stay active and be part of something.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to visit Forest Fighting Fit Boxing and Fitness, meet the team, and see first-hand the fantastic work they are doing in our community.

A big thank you to the team at Citroën in Coleford for working with Howats and being so supportive whilst the correct part was sourced. Most importantly, the van is back on the road, the business can get back to operating as it should, and potential redundancies have been avoided.

This was affecting the ability to carry out work, maintain income and keep the business running at the level it needs to. I’m really pleased that my team and I were able to work alongside Howats to help get the issue resolved and their van back on the road.

Over the summer, Howats Chimney Sweeps Ltd got in touch with my office after a faulty part left one of their business vehicles off the road for a substantial period of time.

This equity loan scheme will be open to first-time buyers with just a 2.5% deposit. It will provide a 20% equity loan to help first-time buyers buy a new-build home, with an initial interest-free period to ensure housing costs are affordable. Placing the dream of owning your own home within reach.

So many young people are giving up hope of ever owning their own home. 'Your First Home Scheme' will make that first step on the housing ladder possible again.

As I'm sure you all know, a project on this scale brings many challenges, so I will take it in stages. Stage One: Feasibility Study. And to get that study underway, I need to hear directly from you. What would a new station at Elton Corner mean for your life? Please fill out my survey!

For too long, the Forest has been cut off. Since being elected, you’ve told me we need a second train station. And as your MP, that’s exactly what I am going to push for. That's why Project Elton starts now.

If you would accept a lifesaving organ, please consider saying yes to becoming an organ donor and, importantly, talk to your loved ones about your decision. It takes just two minutes to confirm your decision, and it could help save up to nine lives.

My team and I worked closely and quickly with the relevant stakeholders to resolve the issue. I am pleased that all affected young people had their transport arrangements resolved and were able to return to the arrangements their parents had previously secured.

Last night saw the launch of my Women and Girls’ Health Campaign in the Forest of Dean.

Bringing women and girls from across the Forest together for an open and honest conversation about their experiences of healthcare.

We heard powerful stories about maternity care, menopause, endometriosis, misdiagnosis, feeling unheard, difficulties accessing specialist services and much more.

Thank you to everyone who came along and shared their experiences, and to the gynaecologists who joined us to listen and answer questions.

This is just the beginning. I’ll be continuing the conversation and working with healthcare professionals to look at what more can be done locally.

If you couldn’t attend last night but would like to be kept informed about this important work, please get in touch with my office at matt.bishop.mp@parliament.uk

Decisions like these send a clear message to our police force that we value their service, stand firmly with them, and ensure those who commit the most serious crimes against them face the consequences of their actions.

I welcome the Government’s decision to end the early release scheme for certain serious offenders. Including those responsible for the appalling killing of PC Harper.

I wrote to the Prime Minister recently regarding the early release scheme, specifically asking for the prevention of releasing those responsible for PC Harper’s death early. I am pleased this was acted upon, and the right decision was made.

My team and I have spoken with National Highways today and raised the concerns regarding the temporary traffic lights many of you reported earlier this week. I update my WhatsApp Channel on this issue regularly, so please join 👉 whatsapp.com/channel/0029...
My team and I have spoken with National Highways today and raised the concerns regarding the temporary traffic lights many of you reported earlier this week.

National Highways has confirmed that any temporary traffic lights currently being seen alongside the A40 bridge works are not their responsibility. However, it is worth noting that utility companies do have the ability and authority to introduce temporary traffic lights where necessary, particularly when they need to attend sites in the area to carry out essential works. This means that temporary lights may sometimes appear without prior notification, but will not be the responsibility of National Highways.

National Highways have confirmed that if they themselves need to make any changes to the traffic management arrangements or introduce temporary lights, they will notify me and my office in advance wherever possible. They have also agreed to keep me informed at the earliest opportunity so that I can relay any information to local residents.

Please continue to get in touch with me or my office with any other concerns, and I will continue to raise them on your behalf.
