🎉 🎉 🎉 On behalf of the Code for America Workers United Bargaining Team, I am beyond excited to share that this past Friday, our staff union voted overwhelmingly to ratify our first collective bargaining agreement! 🎉 🎉 🎉

CfA Workers United voted yes overwhelmingly to ratify our first union contract. This contract sets new labor standards for civic tech, with major wins including:

* grievance and arbitration
* across the board wage increase
* increased paid family and medical leave
* adoption and fertility support
* anti-discrimination protections
* limits on contractors
* just-cause discipline
* protections against intrusive monitoring and more!

Some helpful advice for those of us with ADHD (it me!) from that other place. The first tackles why you have a gazillion planners with only the first four an a half pages kinda filled out...

Kicking off the first leg of my trip to Memphis. I will be there to kick off a youth participatory action research project. This is my first time facilitating this type of research. I am a mix of excited and scared out of my mind.

"I haven't read his work but see many problems with it." This exchange is a perfect crystalization of the challenge of trying to meet demands to defend a take on a complex issue. Too often the asker hasn't done the basic work to understand the defense and put that education work on the defender.
