This is just anecdata, but after 2 years of corporations "going in a different direction" with regards to DEI consulting, in the last few months I've seen a surge in major corps looking for cultural competency training, specifically on queer issues. It's a good sign!!!

In the 1980s, WA State Rep Cal Anderson heard cops were hassling people in gay bars, so he went when cops were there & dared them to give him trouble. They backed down. Not as high-stakes as standing against tear gas, but still the kind of leadership we're entitled to demand from elected officials.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this spring the county increased emergency service patrols & transportation to existing sobering centers, in advance of the new crisis center on Capitol Hill? Seems like they could keep expanding this program instead of the city jumping in with their own thing.
