Most definitely. I think Four and a Half Vulcans was the worst episode of the series. Level Five was actually fun!

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

Our house was struck by lightning a week ago Friday. We lost AC for 3 days (in Florida!) as well as internet, my home theater, and some other electronics. We're slowly picking up the pieces, and things are returning to normal, though repairing/replacing electronics will take some time. Ugh.

I was wondering about that - you liked my post before 5am your time! You need sleep, my friend. 💤

020

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

I totally respect your opinion - a lot of people didn't like the episode. That said, I just thought you were a bit hard on it. I didn't think it was nearly as bad as you did. In fact, I rather enjoyed it for the most part. It's the first time I've ever seen you really dislike an episode.

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

It's just sad. She doubles down on her hate constantly. It's put a tarnish over everything she created, and it just makes me sad. Living in central Florida, I get over to the theme parks once in awhile, and when I visit Universal, the HP areas just remind me of how awful she is. 😢

I played Bard's Tale I and II to death back in the 80s. BT3 wasn't that great though.

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

Just watched this - I hope physical media will stick around. I tend to buy it for TV and films that I really enjoy. Digital is great for the convenience, but it doesn't have the longevity. Also, Blu-Ray/UHD is far superior to streaming anyway.

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

I'll be resubscribing long enough to watch, then unsubscribing again. When they get their shit together, I'll subscribe and keep it again.

010

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

I'll be seeing you at Modelpalooza!

000

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

I've got 2 smoothies in the wings, and at some point I'm going to build one up. I've got one of the Star Trek IV versions built, and it looks fine, but having that smooth hull will be awesome. You still have the best looking 537 that I've seen!

030

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 03/07/2026

Wow, did not know this about Andrew Probert. I know that some of the guys who worked on TMP aren't a fan as he gets a lot of credit for designing the refit when in fact he didnt (he worked on bits of it but Richard Taylor was the main designer). I didn't know he was a right winger. That's just bad.

060

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 03/07/2026

Someone actually questioned you about something like this? Seriously? You're one of the most positive people in the fandom, and it's painfully obvious you are not endorsing anyone's negative actions. That's just weird.

040

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 21/06/2026

And yet... you're young! Now get off my lawn!

000

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

Both of those uniforms always look to me to be extremely uncomfortable. It would be hard to wear them when you're trying to get things done on duty. I always liked the look of the TNG uniforms best (both old and new). That said, if I had to choose between these two, it'd be the maroons because TOS.😀

I’m putting up a picture of my 1701-A Enterprise because why not? Still looks good 6 years later. I have my 3rd one on the bench, and I work on it periodically. One of these years it’ll be done and I’ll have to wonder if I have a sickness. Where do you put all these things?? 😂

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

They evacuated our building for a few minutes to make sure everything was structurally ok. I actually felt the building shake (I'm on the 3rd floor). I thought it was all in my head or something - I hope everyone is ok.

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 22/05/2026

Now that I'm in my 50s I totally get this statement. I miss things like being able to stand up without creaking and being able to eat anything I wanted without weight gain. You know you're getting older when you think about trading your hatchback for something larger to aid getting in and out of it!

010

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 19/05/2026

Canceling his show was a crime.

He was a kind man. I got to meet him once, and he was just as awesome as he seemed. RIP. 😢

010

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 18/05/2026

I was able to meet him once. He had a very kind soul. Truly a nice guy. 😥

010

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 18/05/2026

I just learned that Tom Kane died today. I actually had the pleasure of meeting him once - he was a very gentle soul. You just got the feeling that he enjoyed being around the Star Wars fans. He will be missed.

Everyone always forgets that space is BIG.

010

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 30/04/2026

Wish it was 1/32 to match the Tie Fighter and Tie Interceptor, but it should be a fun kit to build anyway.

000

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 16/04/2026

My first job was at the Stanley hotel (I can actually say I've worked at the overlook). I saved up all of my pay and bought my Tandy 1000TL (this was 1989). Had to play Sierra games properly!

000

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 08/04/2026

Same for you. If you need anything, ask.

020

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 28/03/2026

I was 3D printing a part for my R2D2, and the filament broke halfway through. The printer continued like nothing was wrong, but nothing was there to print with. Part ruined. The sad thing is, I had to reprint this very part because it was defective the first time . I think it might be cursed!

110

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 27/03/2026

Apparently there are some Star Trek 'fans' that are treating Starfleet Academy like the Star Wars 'fans treated the Acolyte. Toxic fandom is an awful thing. it is possible to not enjoy something and not ruin it for everyone else.

170

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 26/03/2026

I ordered it, but after listening to the first track I'm wondering if I should have. I'm hoping the album is better than what I think it's going to be. That said, I'll support Vince to the ends of the earth.

110

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 26/03/2026

It's really sad too. I used to love the series until she started up with her rhetoric. It's tarnished the whole thing, and I just can't be part of it anymore.

010

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 26/03/2026

The instant he won again, I knew we'd be in for a roller coaster of nonsense, and here we are. I'll do my part to remove the mess when the time comes, but for now we get to sit and wait it out. All I can say is that not all of us want this in our country.

010

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 26/03/2026

Still the best looking 1/537 refit I've ever seen.

030

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 05/03/2026

I got this companion the other day. I normally ignore the pets, but I've had Luma out most of the time, because dogs. 😀

000

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 26/02/2026

Happy birthday, young man! Have an amazing day!

010

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 06/02/2026

Ironically, when I was 13 and saw the episode for the first time, I thought it was great. It was only after I grew up and saw that people thought it was silly that I knew it had the reputation that it does.

010

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 30/01/2026

Randy was on fire last night! It was amazing with front row seats. 😀

000

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 30/01/2026

I don't particularly understand the fandoms today. They say they like something, but unless all forms that come out in the future are exactly like what came before, they hate it. Star Wars *fans* are actually a lot worse than what I've seen from Star Trek. Let's just enjoy things!

000

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 22/01/2026

Dude, I'm younger than you (by a year?) and I'm THIS old.

010

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 16/01/2026

And yet, I would take him 1000x over what the R's have put forth. If it's him and another turd from the right, I bet you'd vote for him anyway.

000

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 05/01/2026

Looks just like my Annabelle. She's been gone for 4 years already. I really miss her. 😔 Beautiful dog!

Erasure: Chorus. Honorable mention: Erasure: I Say I Say I Say

000

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 24/12/2025

Can I watch the Laurel and Hardy films with you? I’ve been a big fan since I was a kid. 👍

000

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 09/12/2025

lol, no worries. 4 was my gateway drug into trek. Saw it in theaters and there was no going back!

020

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 08/12/2025

TMP is my favorite Star Trek film. It's the one that truly tries to be science fiction. It attempts to be bigger and show that space is vast and wondrous. The later films always have a villain (except IV) and can't move past that. I cringe when I hear that they have the best villain since Khan.

The Enterprise placed silver at Modelpalooza last weekend! I’m thrilled with its showing. It generated a ton of interest, and people were really impressed by it. Now begins the long wait for Wonderfest.

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 11/10/2025

I got the Enterprise and Tie Fighter set up at Modelpalooza. People were already dropping by and taking pictures, asking questions, and basically having a good time. Tomorrow the show starts in earnest. Should be fun!

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 05/10/2025

Thanks! If you do a search on YouTube, I did a 28 part series on the build for the one pictured. The channel is ‘Matt’s Model Shop’. If you’re really bored you can get some tips there!

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 05/10/2025

I’ve built 2 of those and am midway through a 3rd. I think it’s a sickness! 😂

110

MattA @mattalki.bsky.social · 05/10/2025

Getting prepped for Modelpalooza in Orlando next week. The Enterprise needed to be cleaned up, as it’s been sitting on the shelf collecting dust for awhile. I think she still looks great!
