🟡 Borussia Dortmund once again unspectacular and minimalistic - but clinical and effective, and now top of the #Bundesliga with a 100% record. 🟡 Subs Bellingham & Karetsas with an instant impact, setting up Beier‘s winner. 🟡 A busy October to come, culminating with Bayern (a) on 31.10. #BVB

#Bundesliga Saturday off to a good start: 🔷 Huge first win (and goals!) for HSV - although unsure exactly how… 🟢 Another big home win for Werder, coming from behind with a Füllkrug screamer and a Weiser winner ⚫️ Gladbach lose 3-4 at home - again 🔴 Entertaining and fair result in Frankfurt

🇲🇨 SC Fortuna Köln 0-0 Fortuna Düsseldorf After a 1-1 draw with Alemannia Aachen, newly promoted Fortuna Köln secure another unexpected point. Relegated Fortuna Düsseldorf‘s poor start to the #3Liga continues - but fantastic away support, constant noise and pyro throughout. #köln

🇩🇪 And an equally normal afternoon in the #Bundesliga: - Elversberg two wins from two after coming from 1-3 down to win 4-3 away at Gladbach despite head coach being sent off - BVB come from 0-2 down to win 3-2 away at Hoffenheim - Brilliant Füllkrug header as Werder win 3-1 Fun stuff.

Another normal weekend in the 2. Bundesliga so far: - Newly promoted Energie Cottbus come from 0-3 and 3-4 down to draw 4-4 away at relegated VfL Wolfsburg - Miroslav Klose’s 1. FC Nürnberg drop points for the first time - Relegated St. Pauli still without a win #2BL

Borussia Dortmund in the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg this evening, playing HEBC (div5) in the #DFBPokal on a Tues night due to the "Super Cup" last week. "First round of the cup: once a highlight, now a pain. Against midweek games! Against oversized alternative stadiums!" 📷 @schwatzgelb.de #BVB

FT: Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Hamburger SV HSV better in 2nd half but Daka clipping the post was closest they came. BVB frustratingly (and predictably) took their foot off the gas before Inacio saw red for a studs-up tackle just seconds after coming on. Deserved win for BVB but should have been more.

HT: Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Hamburger SV One of the more enjoyable halves from Niko Kovac‘s BVB, thanks in large part to Greek duo Karetsas & Konstantelias - huge fun to watch, the former with an assist for Guirassy, the latter with a goal himself. HSV barely touched the ball. #bundesliga

#FCM

FT: Halle 2-5 Schalke (aet) For the second year in a row, Schalke are taken to extra time by a team from the fourth-tier Regionalliga Nordost (1-0 vs. Lok Leipzig last year) but eventually get the job done, thanks partly to two Edin Dzeko goals. #dfbpokal

🇩🇪 The Bundeskartellamt has no objection to 50+1 - provided it is applied consistently. What does this mean for Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Hannover & RB? What does it mean for German football? @manuelveth.bsky.social & I break it all down on Gegenpressing ➡️ gegenpressing.substack.com/p/germanys-c...

0104

And it states that "benefactor exemptions" afforded to Bayer Leverkusen & VfL Wolfsburg cannot be maintained if the 50+1 rule is to remain permissible under EU law.

040

It also explicitly criticises the structures at Hannover 96 which enabled Martin Kind to ignore a direct instruction given to him by the parent club in the vote on private equity investment in the DFL in December 2023.

120

The ruling refers to the case of Red Bull in Leipzig in particular, saying that full member participation must be made possible.

140

Matt Ford @matt4d.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

The regulator (Bundeskartellamt) therefore calls on the Bundeslihga (DFL) to take action in the cases of Bayer Leverkusen & VfL Wolfsburg (officially exempt from 50+1) and "RB Leipzig" & Hannover 96 (where 50+1 has been circumvented).

#tsv1860 www.sueddeutsche.de/sport/1860-m...

Even for the semi-pro fourth-tier Regionalliga Bayern (which includes FC Bayern II), 1860 would require around €1m from Ismaik, or face possible insolvency. Recently, former German international and 1860 fan Thomas Hitzlsperger expressed in buying Ismaik‘s stake, but discussions have not progressed.

"Sechzig" finished 8th in the 3. Liga this season. Should their relegation be confirmed, their place could be filled by 18th-place Erzgebirge Aue since 17th-place TSV Havelse have indicated they would waive their right to safety. The spot would not go to Regionalliga Nordost champions Lok Leipzig.
