Nothing infuriates me more than cybercriminals that target small businesses, so it's time to spend a Saturday burning down the infrastructure of the ones who targeted a contractor I've worked with.

I am genuinely curious what other type of content AWS thinks I’d be submitting through their “Report Phishing” form…?
An AWS error message that reads: “We have identified that your submission may contain potentially malicious content. If you believe this was an error or require assistance, please reach out to our Trust and Safety team directly.”

Me: “As a cybersecurity person, there’s no pig butchering lure I’d ever get sucked in by” The pig butchers:
A text from a spam phone number that reads “what’s your chief concern at the moment?”

Microsoft 365 has a fraud problem, y'all. These are authentic emails from Zelle and PayPal, addressed to someone else - so how did they end up in my inbox? 1/3

Paging @badthingsdaily.bsky.social, is it bad if you discover that you’ve hired a member of the Com and given them access to your most sensitive data? Asking for a friend.

Teen on Musk's DOGE
Team Graduated from
'The Com'
February 7, 2025
Wired reported this week that a 19-year-old working for Elon Musk's so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was given access to sensitive US government systems even though his past association with cybercrime communities should have precluded him from gaining the necessary security clearances to do so. As today's story explores, the DOGE teen is a former denizen of 'The Com,' an archipelago of Discord and Telegram chat channels that function as a kind of distributed cybercriminal social network for facilitating instant collaboration.

But where is that money going? For starters, millions of dollars are being paid to a company called Mothership Strategies for "digital organizing." This is just a snippet of payments from the past few months alone. 3/6

Every once in a while, I check my dedicated political donation email address, and the spam folder is always full of messages like this one. Because it's the holidays and I'm bored, I decided to do some basic OSINT. 1/6
A scammy fundraising email that reads "If we raise 20,000 donations to defeat Mike Johnson's republicans, he'll cave in to Democrats and Social Security will be saved! Donate now and we'll triple match it."

It looks like the impersonation site is hosted through Cloudflare, so it’s probably worth filing an abuse report with them as well, and potentially a report to Google SafeBrowsing as well.
