I salute the fans who actually went to this thing. Watch two bad teams without even the campus experience to enjoy?

“What do you need to do to be successful tonight?” “You know, we just have to execute the game plan and stay aggressive.” “How will you deal with their pass rush?” “You know, we just need to key-in on our assignments and execute our game plan”.

Amazing that we all have a limited time on this earth and this is what this guy chooses to do with it.

Yes I love these menus but I know the braised lamb shanks here would be very different than the ones I make with garlic, tomato paste, red wine and herbes de Provence.

I aspire to one day have enough free time during the work week to sit in my car from 10:30 to 2:30 each day.

As someone who left X because there was usually vile and hateful commentary about almost every possible topic, I would refute your thesis. You dropped a political opinion and someone disagreed with a mildly snarky comment. On X ppl get brutally dragged for saying they like spaghetti or something.

It’s already out there. They are criticizing him for being a capitalist and saying we can’t support him. It’s exhausting.

I do not want to see more games won or lost on a dozen FG attempts based on who has a better kicker. I guess it’s just going to replace the punt if you’re between the 40s. one team gets to the 50 and misses a FG and the other team will take over and go 3 and out and kick a FG.

Of course conservatives want clean water and nice roads and good schools, they just don’t want to pay for it.

Even after he figured it out he said he is not criticizing Trump and still wants the tariffs, just “adjusted” to not apply to his products. So you can see what we’re dealing with. Trump could stick this guy’s head in a bucket of water and the guy would believe he wasn’t getting wet.

They won’t vote him out anyway. He’ll blame any blowback on the Dems and have big Republican money backing his campaign. It’s no wonder he and the others who voted for this are not worried about midterms.

Damn they killed it. Her band sounded perfect- got the drum/snare sound right which is no easy feat. Robert’s voice still amazing. Olivia sounded Great too. She has repped a lot of bands from the era before she was even born. Respect.

I am a huge fan of fall and winter but around the (winter) solstice we only get 8 hours of light. I am 45 parallel and that seasonal affective disorder hits when the sun sets at 4pm. But enjoy your darkness if you like it!

This is true for all consultants. “Here’s what you need to do…”. “Thanks but that’s too expensive”

There’s bad grammar, because “good” and “bad” refer to judgment, and as you say, we judge ppl’s grammar all the time. I would say there’s no such thing as “incorrect” grammar. But that’s just me being a stickler for “good” diction.

Oh there are systemic and very real problems with our schools. Some are even fundamental and require radical reform. But from my perspective there are also very good things being done. I mean, I assume we educated you, and you clearly have judgment, agency and passion.

Btw I’m a public school teacher so I live this struggle and obviously have strong feelings about all of this that I acknowledge many (or most) others do not necessarily share.

I think free public ed is the most important element of our democracy and while it has all kinds of problems and challenges, when we start demonizing it, it gives them fodder for further defunding and dismantling it. You think schools suck now? Wait until they are all for profit charters.

I never made it a goal of mine to uphold the status quo and prep students for a life of meaningless drudgery. Literally the exact opposite, in fact. And I think most educators feel that way. BTW, yes I agree with you about free lunch and my state does it. It’s wild anyone is actually against it.

I was Mack for years at a business I frequent a couple times a month. And not the general “what’s up Mack” but a slight miss on my actual name which they thought they were correctly using. I didn’t have the heart to tell them, nor did I mind, so I was Mack a few times a month for almost 20 years.

Look at their social media. Listen to the reps. They LOVE the cuts to social programs, including Medicaid. Just don’t cut it from those they care about. But absolutely they support cutting it from ppl they hate, resent, fear.
140
Matt Schaefer @matt-schaefer.bsky.social · 28/05/2025
No they voted for (and still Support) Medicaid cuts…just not for themselves and their families. They 100% still want it cut from all the ppl they feel don’t deserve it and are taking advantage of it. This is, of course, when we come back to your racism point.

You need to qualify your statement: College isn’t worth it for certain degrees. STEM degrees? Healthcare? Totally worth it…even taking-on debt to get it.

That is a very common argument we hear from Trump voters. “He’s already so rich he doesn’t need to take money from the system, so he will clean up the corruption”. Second only to: “I want him running the country like a business”. Yes it’s totally insane but many, many red voters really believe it.

The general progression: punk/post-punk leads to alt-country leads to Americana. Here there is usually a split, with some ppl moving into folk and others moving into bluegrass, but they converge eventually into classic (1950-1970s) country. You will be buying Hank Williams vinyl eventually. Enjoy.

The term “crisis” sets the tone here for something that is not positive…painful and destructive. It requires a rebrand to “mid life transformation”
