matt-grenier.bsky.social @matt-grenier.bsky.social · 20/09/2026I've updated my Only-Real-Magic-Cards (No commander, no horizons, no book promos) Vintage Cube and I think it looks pretty damn rad. If you want to see the Magic we *could* be playing, check it out. cubecobra.com/cube/list/Wh...cubecobra.comCube Cobra List: Whole Food Vintage Cube 090
matt-grenier.bsky.social @matt-grenier.bsky.social · 13/09/2026The gameplay of official Magic: The Gathering Digital Cube offerings is so bad and it just doesn't have to be. So often, when I raise this point people counter with "build your own community and play how you want," but I think the actual official offering from the game company should be good. 122

matt-grenier.bsky.social @matt-grenier.bsky.social · 19/08/2026On the day that Fantasticar got added to MTGO vintage cube: powered/vintage cube is an outdated meaningless term. Cubes that reference this in either a “powered” or “non powered” are pointing to something that will ultimately lead the astray. 010
matt-grenier.bsky.social @matt-grenier.bsky.social · 11/08/2026In all seriousness, the first question I’ll ask about the “power level” of your cube is if it has Ocelot Pride, not Ancestral Recall. 020

matt-grenier.bsky.social @matt-grenier.bsky.social · 10/05/2026The MTGO Vintage Cube is such a sloppy mess at the moment. It's full of awful standard cards (when there are many interesting standard cards that could be used and aren't) that all go last pick, while gameplay remains dominated by the same unfun commander and MH cards that have plagued it for years. 0160

matt-grenier.bsky.social @matt-grenier.bsky.social · 07/10/2025I’ve come up with a new format that I’m naming after one of my heroes, John Cage. This is kind of a joke but also serious. Here’s how it works: find the cards you’ve intentionally drafted over the years or buy cards that you think would be good draft picks. Shuffle them together and draft. 120

matt-grenier.bsky.social @matt-grenier.bsky.social · 15/09/2025My favorite part about MTGO Vintage Cube discourse is when people point out new cards that provide novel and fun gameplay patterns but then just say “yeah but it won’t be good enough compared to all these boring cards we’re required to play with.” 183
