Those intent on forcing an orange march down the Garvaghy Road seek a return to the days of supremacy and oppression. They will not succeed!

Irish governments have rightfully been forceful in challenging the British on their failure to engage properly on legacy truth & justice. However, the actions of the southern state towards victims and families seeking answers has often also been shameful.

Absolutely atrocious decision by the Parades Commission to force an Orange march through the Garvaghy Road community. Solidarity with the Garvaghy Road residents. They will have the full support of nationalists from all over Ireland. There can be no return to the dark days of Orange supremacy.

The BOSE factory site at Carrickmacross has been closed for over 11years. Ministers were quick to claim credit when it appeared that a new owner would create new jobs. But, now they hide behind state agencies and private owners as it lies idle. Not good enough.

Tonight I read into record of the Dáil exempts from letter I received from a constituent who works hard but is struggling to get by. People need real action and leadership. Government must cut tax on petrol, diesel and home heating oil as costs go through the roof. We will keep fighting your corner!

Every country has a right to establish a sovereign migration policy. It was fundamentally wrong for Fianna Fáil & Fine Gael to lock Ireland into the EU Migration & Asylum Pact. Thanks to those who attended our discussion on migration at the National Ploughing Championship today.

🇮🇪🚜 Nothing beats a day at the Ploughing! Great craic engaging with rural communities. They know what’s needed: Fair Prices, Fair CAP & Fair Play for our farmers; cost-of-living supports for all workers & families. SF will be bringing that message back to the Dáil. #NationalPloughingChampionship

Some craic when Donald Trump is more of a united Irelander than the leader of Fianna Fáil 😳

The failure of Fianna Fáil & Fine Gael to tackle the low recruitment numbers in Garda Síochána is having real implications for community safety & tackling criminality. People need more than a PR strategy from Jim O’Callaghan, we need the implementation of Sinn Féin’s proposals to address the crisis.

Good to meet Jason Poole to discuss the Domestic Violence Judgments Register Bill. Jason deserves enormous credit for campaigning for the introduction of Jennie’s Law, named after his sister, who was murdered by someone who had a history of domestic violence that she was unaware of.

Chaos reigns in Irish courts because Justice minister won’t engage with stakeholders on Criminal Legal Aid changes. Thousands of cases are adjourned. Yet, gov won’t even allow a Dáil debate on issue! The Oir Justice Committee will instead seek to hold a hearing next Tuesday.

Poignant moment in the Dáil this evening as TDs recognise the campaigning of David French who has championed the passage of Valerie’s Law, in memory of his sister. Valerie was murdered by her husband who has remained the official guardian of her children.

Coverage of the passage of my protection orders legislation in today’s Irish Examiner. Victims of rape should not need to beg to be protected from their attacker - this bill must be made law ASAP!

🚨 NEW: We have completed the detailed scrutiny stage of my legislation, Victims of Sexual Violence Civil Protection Orders Bill. Hopefully this bill, which will prevent abusers from approaching victims even after a prison sentence, will quickly move now to the committee stage.

Margaret Loftus is a survivor of domestic abuse, a former member of An Garda Siochána as was her abuser. This week she addressed the Oireachtas Justice committee & discussed her experiences as well as the policy changes needed to tackle gender based violence. Her bravery was rightfully acknowledged.

Sending best wishes to the members of An Garda Síochána who were injured in Monaghan yesterday. It appears that there could easily have been a fatality. The whole community is united in hopes that they make a full recovery.

The Dáil should be meeting this week to pass our emergency legislation to cut taxes on diesel, petrol & home heating oil. Workers, families, businesses and farmers need supports; not a government on holidays. Proud to join Pearse Doherty at protest meeting in Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim last night.

The tax measures by Fianna Fáil & Fine Gael are far too little, far too late. But the battle is not over. We will continue to fight for meaningful cuts to the costs of diesel, petrol & home heating oil!

Many local roads are in atrocious conditions yet Fine Gael & Fianna Fáil have allocated LESS funding this year than last in Monaghan & Cavan. Simon Harris tries to wash his hands off situation but he and Micheál Martin must increase funding towards our local & regional roads.

FF & FG have been far TOO SLOW to accept our proposals to cut taxes on fuel. Now, they are falling TOO SHORT of what is needed. Half measures won’t do it. Families, workers & businesses are struggling. They need maximum cuts to taxes on petrol, diesel & HOME HEATING OIL. We’ll keep the pressure on!

Rising fuel prices aren’t an accident - they’re government policy!!! Simon Harris now says that they MIGHT do something NEXT WEEK. They need to act now by reducing taxes on petrol, diesel & home heating oil. No excuses, no half measures - implement Sinn Féin’s proposals, NOW!

The local post office is a critical service, especially in rural communities. But Fianna Fáil & Fine Gael have overseen a sharp decline - 11 have closed in Cavan & Monaghan alone over past 10 yrs. SF won’t stand for it - we are demanding increased investment and services in this vital resource!

⛽️ Motor fuel prices have gone up again overnight, hitting €2 a litre in many areas. Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil & Fine Gael are still sitting on their hands. Remember half or more of the price of fuel is taxes - they are not observers - they can and must intervene to support workers and families.

People have already been struggling with the cost of living, while Fianna Fáil & Fine Gael made lives even harder. Now, we’ve seen price gouging while government plan to further hike carbon taxes. It’s time for a bit of cop-on! #StopPriceGouging #SupportWorkers #SupportFamilies #CostOfLivingCrisis
