Abolish the legal gender marker entirely. No government can be trusted to have a database of which people have changed theirs, no government has any business tracking what your gender is "supposed" to be in the first place.

Since leaving higher ed to teach at the HS level, a lot of my energies as a writer have been devoted to exploring philological ideas through fiction. I'm still keen to be involved in conferences, give talks or readings, and participate in academic classics. Keep me in mind if opportunities arise!

If you are working in humanities education and thinking how to respond to the tragic events of this weekend, I'd like to draw your attention to a new project launching next month at the AHA. I would rather it wasn't so topical, but here we are.

Today, in addition to an affirming nod, a student gave me a *thumbs up*. I cannot stress much I appreciated that.

The SCS Census has a whopping 906 responses in just 3 days since it was launched! We added a question about sexual orientation and you are able to go back and amend your answer to include your response if you filled it out before we included that question.
