We study how vertical (level-focused) & horizontal (field-centred) occupation-education mismatch show distinct patterns and relate to distinct mechanisms among immigrants and descendants: international credential recognition for the former and initial sorting into fields of study for the latter

We compare the vertical mismatch of G1, G2, and G3 to that of natives for men in panel a and women in panel b. Indicated by coefficients to the right of the reference line, we find that G1 experience greater vertical mismatch than natives.

À l'uvsq, cette semaine c'était enquête par questionnaire avec les étudiant·es de L2 de sociologie, dans le cadre du magnifique collectif POF ! Cette année, le thème est "l'engagement étudiant et les réseaux sociaux" mathieuferry.github.io/fr/posts/202...

Nombre de questionnaires collectés par créneau jour-heure. Un pic ressort sur le créneau mardi 12h-12h et un creux le même jour entre 15h et 18h.

Sometimes I draw maps... This one was motivated by the study of vegetarianism in India in my PhD dissertation. It just found its way in the fabulous Atlas edited by C. Guilmoto to be found here: link.springer.com/book/10.1007... based on the NFHS-5 which provide district-level estimates!

Distribution of vegetarian women in India, vegetarianism is clustered in the North-Western part of the the country.

Ce matin, les étudiant-es HED ont présenté leur recherche "Uprooting from parents' origins" que j'ai co-encadré avec @mathieuichou.bsky.social cette dernière année, portant sur les effets de la mobilité intergénérationnelle sur le sentiment d'appartenance. Travail encore en cours et à suivre !
