One would think it is forged or fake. Sadly, it is true. Is it the official position of the US that the elections will be “free and fair”? NPT is probably celebrating. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar

Let’s make an assumption. The junta hired a lobbying firm to remove Kyaw Moe Tun as the #Myanmar UN permanent representative. This report from @amnesty.org tells us that the Trump administration seems to care as much as Min Aung Hlaing about human rights. www.amnestyusa.org/press-releas...

This year’s report has been manipulated by the Trump administration to not accurately reflect the ongoing and grave violations of human rights, and that’s deeply troubling.

As we had time to kill, we listened to two recent episodes of @insightmyanmar.bsky.social - quite boring. The host is not a journalist, I get it. But gosh, spending 40+ minutes with Turnell to get banalities, misleading and half-baked insights, and complacency—thanks but no thanks.

This is the case in other areas, too. Civilians are caught between armed groups, and no good option but to suffer. Of course, the situation for the Rohingya is unacceptable and tragic — their suffering is immense. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar

Thanks for sharing. If Sagaing is "governed" by resistance forces, one would expect to see a decrease in the number of protests, no? Likewise, other "liberated" areas do not have many protests. Why? What makes Sagaing so specific?
