10 years ago, the legend Tony Benn died. This pic is when he and I were the only two people to turn up at an anti-animal testing event (for Europeans for medical progress that is now Safer Medicines) so we took the opportunity to have our photo taken outside number 10. He was a lovely charming man.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ts94... Remembering NABIL SHABAN: Disability music festival, 1995 the reggae band I was in The Grateful Dub, Nabil guest sang "Working Class Hero". Starts at 3 mins; hear him wail and soar sonically as he'd done theatrically. It was great gig, so glad we did it. RIP Nabil xx

What makes you think that? Oh, maybe it's because Nigel Farage was a member and promoter of the National Front, there his is in his flat cap, turned up jeans, and boots.

Image of some nasty white men and a woman, a Union Jack flag, with a younger Nigel Farage wearing his National front badge, next to their leader, on a march for the ultra right wing National Front, in the 70's or 80's.

If you like quaint daytime TV detective drama, you may enjoy "Sister Boniface", season 2 of which is available on BBC1 at 2pm on Fridays from this week. I pop up occasionally, playing Clem the local paper editor who thinks he's in Fleet St x

Just flicked through without reading, pulled this image from it to illustrate. Did Ankara University/Transmissable consult any actual Thalidomiders before writing or picturing this? Just interested. I'm sure young medical students need to read it, and a cartoon makes it easier for them I guess.

Now, in 2024, I use a Roland TDK 30, and the sizes are irrelevant as you can assign any sound to any drum pads, but the configuration is similar. Less cymbals but you can get 2 sounds from them with diff pressure, and also assign separate sounds to drum rims, potentially doubling the amount of toms

I told you I was and am a drummer. Back in 1982, this was my drum kit. 8,10,12,14,15,16" toms, 6 inch deep snare, 10", 2 X 16" crash cymbal, 18 "ride, all 2nd hand, and an electric trigger on snare for sounds (hand claps etc)...I used this kit, which I LOVED, in "A Fear Of Sex", and "North"

Me from 2003's Edinburgh festival, when I was hosting The Whoopee Club burlesque show, the 1st and only one at the festival back then, though the Pontani Sisters from NYC were there that year too. 21 years ago! Saw this carousel wheel and used it for promo pics. Still have that jacket & shirt.

Mat looks deadpan into the camera as he leans nonchalantly against the nose of a wooden horse upon a carousel, in a sparkly blue cabaret jacket and ruffled shirt.
