On the left: this Democrat flyer in mail today. It has an actual fact check right on the flyer. On the right: the Republican flyer received today has no fact check info.

When did we swop good governance for entertainment?

Watch and elect game show type stuff, get game show type stuff and that goes for Trump. It is and always was and still is entertainment. Just the entertainer now runs the country like his game show stuff and, like a casino, house of Trump always wins and we all lose. Approx. 35 % have addiction.

I’m tired of being divided into teams. Do you want a safe neighborhood? Do you want a good job with good benefits? Do you want a high quality, well funded public school? So do I. We’re far more the same than we are different. As one team, we’re unstoppable.

Vote them out. What else can you do right now.

Ok well bye for now. Best wishes and vote.

Just vote.

I didn’t start this but I was here to learn. I’m glad to stay out. But please be careful who you choose to invite to leave. It might not always be best strategy when you are advocating for change. Bye! 👋

No but I have my energies divided so much and I am not a leader here but I hope you find more. Certainly there is a void.

Some would say that but being patient with slow learners is a virtue.

Dear Goddess, He won’t. When he wins, I invite you to track his votes in Congress. I plan to. And I hope everyone will find some relief that all hope is not lost once he is there. There are more who will vote right in Congress now and we must find more of them and elect them.

Well thats my only choice here at this point and no one has come up either an action plan, solution or immediate alternative. I’m not going to give you Ken Paxton in the US senate. That’s the abuse and it will be on you not me. You don’t have to advocate for him but telling people not vote is worse

And then you stay home and you get driven out of the state or prosecuted like our women who went out of state to get an abortion. What would you do here, let them proceed. It’s not hypothetical now. It’s vote time.

No. So tell me your alternative plan.
100 0
Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
And please what is your plan to change our government.
500 0
Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
While I agree with that, what is the alternative plan if voting out people who actively draft and pass anti-trans bills is not on the agenda?

Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
Please. Tell us what your answer is to your concerns. What is the plan?

What I’m against specifically is Ken Paxton, our Attorney General, now running for a US senate seat. He prosecuted doctors at our children’s hospital for just giving gender affirming care which is now banned completely. Not voting is voting for Paxton. Are you telling me not to vote?

Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
Not same here.
100 0
Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
It’s not the same. I’m absolutely willing to defeat those who have taken rights leaving more opportunity to reinstate rights. Absolutely. That’s the situation we are in in TX. Not voting is not an option.
500 0
Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
Because the ones I vote for here are aligned.
200 0
Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
The only candidates I’m supporting now are James Talarico and Gina Hinososa for Governor of TX, the worst violator of rights. They are running to over throw 30 years of Republican domination. Nothing will change if we don’t vote.

Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
I don’t agree with that. You can run for office and support those who want to. Others have.

Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
Now that’s an action comment. Help get candidates who support your specific interests.

Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
Did you ever think that your comments are driven by false expectations and bias interpretations. Maybe there would be more allies if education and an open invite would be more utilized. We have trans people coming to testify in our legislature to teach and advocate.

Haha that’s amazing. I didn’t. One of my comments was answered by a person so I responded which then brought all the related comments I’ve seen on here before. But I, for one, want to learn more, so yes.

If you don’t vote, you elect the people who will dunk your rights. So just research and vote.

Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
No. It’s that you must not understand the voting system and are willing to sacrifice your own rights by not voting apparently.

We just disagree on just how bad the current situation is, how we got here and/and how to stop it. Just read their voting records and decide

I’m beginning to believe these comments are written by people wishing to chill Democrat votes. I would not put anything past the republicans and their dark money.

Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
This Christian Nationslist movement and the dark money funded movements have been decades in the making. It’s one bill, one lawsuit and one Supreme Court appointment at a time. Then you see the devastation. See Federalist Society, Justice Alito history and R think tanks. This is more organized.

That’s how you get hammered here. Not voting.
200 0
Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
Well I disagree. It’s a representative government. So we have that structure to deal with. Not best for sure.
100 0
Material Culture @materialculture.bsky.social · 14/10/2026
Not sure I answered it. I wish we were Switzerland where every citizen votes directly in every bill or proposed law. We aren’t civilized here. Stupid really. It makes people feel disenfranchised like we have been seeing here. Direct vote would help.

You vote for the candidate that most closely represents the interests you support and has the agenda you prefer. None of them have everything we want. So, you vote for the best choice. If you don’t vote, then it’s the same as giving your vote to the candidate you don’t want.

It gets a seat in congress where the national bills are written introduced and then passed by vote. When the republicans have the majority in the house and senate like they do now and votes in congress go party line, then nothing for democracts can be passed and republicans win everything every time

Ok well. I have tried to explain albeit not to your satisfaction and now I hope you can have an influence in this next election to change the crushing results of our current administration. 💙

You got it. He will do best in the hostile environment we currently have. He is standing tall after 30 years of R domination in Texas and against PAC $ 200,000,000 spending. Listen to him lecturing TX legislature. He hits them hard and he can win this and actually be there in the US Congress.
