And I feel grateful to my partner Laura, mis amigos adoberos, y mi familia for supporting this continued exploration in heritage practice. We got a lot of bricks to make in 2025!

Attending Earth USA in Santa Fe, New Mexico was a highlight in 2024. I feel grateful for the words of knowledge and experiences passed along by mentors and peers in the adobe building & preservation community.

It's been another year chasing the ghosts of adobe past, present, and future. I feel grateful for all the sunny days I spent feeling the textures of earth and channeling relationships with ancestors and the living. 🧱 🌞 🤎 #earthenarchitecture #adobebrick #earthbuilder

I found the new Gregg Popovich mural in the #SanAntonio Five Points neighborhood and was reminded of the philosophy behind #Spurs culture. Find inspiration and POUND THE ROCK!
Mural of Gregg Popovich in San AntonioWhen nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before.

In light of Trump's election, it felt really positive to be in a communal space that centered music and art. The congreso acknowledged our elders while also highlighting youth programs. NM Acequia Association did a great job cultivating hope & action despite the struggle ahead. Pa'lante!

At the Congreso, the morning began with ceremony. Representatives of each acequia brought water samples from their streams to offer into one collective olla (ceramic jar). The ceremony reminded us that we are water and our streams are the veins that carry our lifeblood to the community #ElAguaEsVida

This wknd, I attended the 25th Annual Congreso de las Acequias in Las Vegas, #NewMexico. It was a gathering of farmers, land stewards & water protectors uniting our voices & collective power to honor our heritage practice & fight for its survival in the face of water privatization & #ClimateChange.
