![Glenryck Pilchard Recipes ; promotional booklet : Glenryck : nd [c.1960]
Now, much as I can enjoy canned fish, I'd draw the line at a Pichard omelette. A promotional booklet of recipes to use the canned Glenryck pilchards and likely to have been issued c.1960. It appears to have been designed or printed by "Trio-Rand".
The brand name appears to derive from the founder's, one Jamie Jameson, combining the names of his two children, Glenda and Derryck when he set up the business in 1937. The brand has been owned by various concerns over the years, including I suspect by Heinz who at one time also owned John West, and now appear to be part of a multi-national concern. The small can with the predominantly red label is still in use. The largely yellow 'wavy' background has on the front and the right of the back cover, a blue cartoon style fisherman holding a fish in either hand and wearing a red can of Glenryck on his hat.
