Last to note, Suriya is a performer!! She is a theatre person and that's why I went so heavily with a performers outfit design from multiple areas of Japanese/European theatre culture.

The pants *were* inspired by Kaveh's pants and I put it in the style of a smoking flame to show off more of the pyro. :3

I thought that the sleeves having the little beads/spots on them would represent the monarchs spots without over doing it on the wings, which would draw away attention!

The flower on Suriya's shirt used to be The Rising Sun which up until a year and a half ago I had NO IDEA it was bad! So I replaced it with a Japanese flower design that still looked like fire and theatre elements! ^0^

I have this old maroon/fuchsia Renaissance top that had the little diamonds and beads on it from years ago that I used as inspo for the sleeves! I just can't find any good pictures of one in a similar style. Also yes, ATLA nerd here, I've always loved Korra's hair style and took inspo.

I heard someone was concerned about my design for Suriya so I thought I'd explain! They are a mixed culture/race from Sumeru/Inazuma. Their design was mostly based around that of a Monarch Butterfly and Inazuma/Japanese theatre culture however, with a hint of renaissance to nod at Fontaine. 🧵
