Today is my birthday! My age is now the same number as the internet's favorite rule.

Not to mention the tough competition that's going on with all the new movies and, despite being presented as a family film, the grand majority of parents will absolutely not want to bring their kids 6 or less to a movie where they'll end up traumatized by this.

The Manananggal from Forgotten Island, or as she often called by some viewers, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen a growing amount of posts of people saying that Forgotten Island is flopping at the box office because of Universal's lack of marketing for the feature. Honestly...I cannot agree with that because, from my POV, my social media was nothing but FI ads for the past few weeks.

A screenshot of Forgotten Island featuring Raissa having a panic attack over the fact that they're in Nakali and doesn't know how to go back home (especially when her flight to the US is in 12 hours), while Jo is on the left trying to calm her down.

There surprisingly wasn't much that came to my PO Box this month, so I'll be taking the Aaron Burr route and wait for more to come during October (and help build up for when it's after my birthday and we can have our own birthday bash going on!)

After these past few busy weeks, I need some catching up to do with the next videos coming up. This is why I'm not gonna upload a new main video this week so that I can have more time to work. Don't worry, I'll be back next week to show you my next spooky creation with our favorite Aardman sheep!

This is a rare case of Disney creating an acceptable live-action remake. This picture alone makes bringing back The Magic of Disney Animation worth it. I hope they also make it a place to have rare meet & greet characters come out because that would be the perfect spot for those moments.

From the Disney Parks and Walt Disney Animation Studios Facebook pages, "Happy opening day to The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney's Hollywood Studios!". The photo features 60 Disney characters, both as mascots and live-actors, standing in front of the new Animation building of The Magic of Disney Animation.

This is the first art-related creation I made in a while and my first painting project I did in years, and I'm very happy with how it came out! Been a long time since I felt that artistic satisfaction, and now it's my tangerine bowl :3

Today's Nintendo Direct was okay. But then, right at the end, they revealed a new Kirby game for next spring, along with the promise of more Kirby happening next year for the 35th anniversary. This Direct made me happy :)

Today marks the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show. Not only is it possibly the best TV show to ever come out of the 1970s, but also one of of my personal favorites and one of my most influential shows that helped shaped who I've become. Now, where's my full season of the recent special?

It all started as a fun project for Peter Lord and David Sproxton. 50 years later today, on top of both of them being recently knighted, their little studio, Aardman, is the UK's most beloved animation house and still making some cracking stop motion! Cheers to you, lads!

I warned people over a week ago that, if fandoms can't control their anger over Lesbian Space Princess, it's only going to get worse when they discover Jim Queen. I'm surprised that I was able to predict the future with this one!

My post from August 24, 2026 that says "It's quite ironic to see LSP in this position because it really goes to show that not even indie animation, which they claim to be the medium's savior, is not immune to become a target of being "The Cartoon we must Hate and Destroy". In that case, don't tell them about Jim Queen."

I really hope that I can take a break from making these kinds of posts for a while, but here's another tribute post with my thoughts on Peter Cullen.

I wish I can take a good long break from making these kinds of posts, but this was a tragic week with these news happening literally day after day (not to mention the floods in Nepal and Tibet).

As a Montreal-based voice actor, Peter Cullen is the kind of person I aspire to become. His talent has connected with generations of fans with a strong voice that emphasis his characters' personalities in an unforgettable way. His voice became the definitive sound of a good-hearted leader with Optimus Prime and carried the torch to keep a beloved Disney character alive with Eeyore. And that's just a few examples of his amazing talent.

Peter Cullen is the kind of actor where his characters are so iconic mainly because of him. He was the go-to low register voice not just because of how he made it sound, but he also always gave it his all with every performance.

He was one of several who set the bar of what it takes to be a great voice actor, and those following that passion can only wish that they can achieve some of what Cullen was able to accomplish. Like Optimus Prime, he was a beloved leader in the world of voice acting.

After a few months of reviews, side projects and everything else that's been going on with my life both in and out of the internet, I think it's time to bring out these books and start making that 4th one.

Two books on a table. They include The Art of Blue Sky Studios by Jake S. Friedman and The Art and Making of Blue Sky's The Peanuts Movie by Jerry Schmitz.

Just like what I did with Dolly Parton yesterday, here's the Facebook post I did to write a few words about Tim Curry and what I think made him an absolute legend.

It's bad enough that we just lost Dolly Parton yesterday, but also losing Tim Curry who was also 80 feels like a cruel joke from life this week. We can't even have time to emotionally recover from the passing of one legend, and now we gotta deal with not having Curry still with us as well.

This one is especially heartbreaking because Tim Curry is the definition of charisma. Regardless if it's in front of the camera, voicing an animated character or on the stage, he delivers an unforgettable charm that makes us get into his personality, regardless if he's the hero or the villain. He also knows the perfect amount of being over-the-top that makes him so enjoyable to watch at the same time where it is just enough to be goofy, but never in a way that's either unnecessary or too much.

Even when he's in something that's bad, he's never the one to blame for dragging the project down and is always the highlight of the moment. At worst, people would just say "At least Tim Curry's in it, so that helped a bit". He's the kind of actor whom everyone has a favorite role from him, and I'll never forget how he was THE legend as Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show during my teens when I was doing theater.

Godspeed to Tim Curry in the afterlife. We can only wish we can be as charming as him.

Instead of doing a whole thread to share my thoughts on Dolly Parton, here's my Facebook post where I share how I will remember this legend.

I'll admit that I'm not that familiar with Dolly Parton as a country music artist. I don't follow the genre and outside of 9 to 5, I don't really know a lot of her songs.

However, what I do know about Parton and what I'll remember her best is her philanthropy. From her Dollywood Foundation, to her Imagination Library that help provide children to have books to read, to her support for human rights like for the LGBTQ+ community and women, to protecting bald eagles, to her donations for medical research, including for one of the COVID vaccines, to helping out disaster reliefs, and many more.

Just like Ms. Rachel, Parton is an example of using her Christian faith for good to help those in need and make the world feel like a better place to live when there's people like Dolly who dedicated her life and fame to uplift those that are less fortunate. Even without counting her contribution to the music industry, It's her kindness and empathy that made her a legend.

Have a good rest, Dolly Parton. You deserve to have peace after everything you've done for us. The only thing we can do to return the favor is follow your lead in your honor.

Today was a nice stream of What's in the Box? and had a good time talking to fans and answering questions. Here's a little highlight of what I got today, including a couple of nice artwork and an HD-DVD (remember when that was a thing?)

A steelbook Blu-ray of Sin City, an HD-DVD of The Ant Bully, and Blu-rays of Monsters University and Oliver and Company. Underneath them are artwork of Asriel from Undertale dressed as AniMat, Lego figurines of Sorcerer Mickey, Knuckles, Emmet from The Lego Movie, Spider-Man (Miles Morales) and Peter B. Parker, and artwork of Rudy, Buttercup and Tommy Pickles united.

It's crazy to see Niu Lai going from one of the worst animated films ever to China's celebrated symbol of fighting against AI. It's also funny because, if this is happening where western animated fans currently are, they would have to face quite a conflicting dilemma.

PANEL 1: A hand at the bottom about to pick two buttons. The one on the left says "Destroy Niu Lai, support "Animation is Cinema". The one of the right says "Support Niu Lai, fight against AI".

PANEL 2: A muscled guy in red nervously sweating and unsure what to pick, while a weird yellow cow from Niu Lai is standing by his shoulder to see what he'll choose.

I'm really proud of how this intro for the D23 special of AniMat's Crazy Cartoon Cast came out. It's been easier than ever to find footage that people filmed at the panels, so I was able to find most clips related to the highlights. It's one of my favorites that I've done so far!

We're about to get into some real magic, and there's so much to talk about. That's why I'll be starting today's episode of AniMat's Crazy Cartoon Cast early so that we'll have more time to discuss all of the announcements at this year's D23.

This comic deserves an Animation edition of the discourse because that fandom can really be like that.

2 panel comic

Panel 1: Heading: “Discussing Movies with Friends”
Three people sit around a table discussing a movie they just saw. The conversation goes:
Blue Person: I think it’s his best work
Yellow Person: Really?
Purple Person: It was pretty good

Panel 2: Heading: “Online Movie Discourse”
Yellow Guy is being dragged to hell by terrifying ghouls. They scream “WE SAW A Character Design AND IT SCARED US”
