🤷‍♂️ Go figure why people dislike the Fediverse

Corey Quinn: "Apparently the Mastodon server I was using stopped existing so that's my entire account gone now.

That's not a great experience."

Luz Fong-Jones: "yuuuup that is the event that made me give up on Mastodon"

Cinderella Mechanicus: "The worst bit isn't the account vanishing, it's all the masto scolds that crawl out of the woodwork if you dare express any unhappiness."

The main feature of a social network is the people who use it. The people use it because of the affordances of the software used to interact with the network. Nascent products must listen to their users to succeed. It's not that hard.
