I can see a ball hit in front of the right side of the pole and traveling left do that, but a ball hit to the left and staying left or even traveling right would need to be hit and a bizarre angle if you’re batting right, no?

I don’t know all of the claims, but the one associated with the article was this one, which was that U.S. House members have no constitutional “right”to resign their seats, and linked a paper that argued that “U.S. House members have no right to resign their seats.

Also if one wants to make the argument that only things that are explicitly defined in the Constitution arallowed. Then US House members have no Constitutional right to resign their seats. Yet they do so all the time.

it appears the paper makes the very argument she does. The constitution doesn’t say the representative has a right to resign. The paper concludes the rep thus lacks that right. The constitution grants house authority over its rules. Thus the rep, may resign conditionally, subject to the House.

First, it should be noted that the 1872 statute poses no bar to a decision by the House that resignation is not a matter of right. The Rules of Proceedings Clause leaves the determination of each chamber's procedural rules up to that chamber. Any attempt to create House rules by legislation eliminates cameral autonomy by introducing bicameralism and presentment into the mix and therefore cannot bind the House.

I’m not a lawyer, but I believe it’s because that summary makes this claim, which is that the constitution does not grant the representative the right to resign, and that their ability to resign is dependent on the powers the constitution gives to the House to allow it.
