Patriarchy has existed for roughly 12,000 years. Humans have existed for roughly 200,000.For 94% of human history, men and women operated with relative equality. Then somebody planted WHEAT. Men decided they needed to know which kids were theirs so they could pass down the wheat. That required controlling women. Within a few thousand years, men had organized into patrilineal clans and killed each other so aggressively that Y-chromosome diversity collapsed worldwide. Genetically, it looked like one man existed for every 17 women.
