The thing to understand about Trump is like in his first term, he doesn’t want to govern. He doesn’t want to learn. He wants to campaign and look good. Republicans know this. So there are battles going on right now to take control of the actual process of governing.

Thought about it a couple years ago but had my vehicle then. Oh, I'm sure I'll take it easy at first. I remember how hard it was to ride a bike when I started back after a break. Different muscles!

Yep. But great exercise. When I was exhausted in the cold, Dave was upbeat & encouraging- until we got home. First thing he said was "my God, that was awful!" He was the cyclist, annual rides across Iowa for 18 years.

I do think about those little defenseless bacteria. Feed him, talk to him, then cremate him and eat his corpse. Very sad. I'm careful not to waste starter, rarely wash the jar. I put your little starter into my big starter.

Yes, summer and winter in those extremes we rode around the lake. Into town against the wind was pure stupidity. I was ready to lie down in a ditch and let nature have me.

The well-paved bike path is right in front of my house, just across the street. It goes from the Ywca a couple blocks west to the next town east I think to the next lake (not certain of that) so 15-20 miles. I have no excuses not to pedal a trike.

Btw, Riley the starter, is darker than some because he's fed rye flour almost exclusively with occasional wheat flour when I'm out of rye. I use rye only for feeding Riley because it's too expensive otherwise.

I put a lot of money into my 2008 Town n Country over the years. The timing belt was the last straw. I'll use cabs, bus, and grandchildren. I think I might get an adult tricycle.

Mary David Snow @marydavidsnow.bsky.social · 25/01/2025

Yes, I used to have a very nice bike. Dave and I rode around the lake twice = 10 miles. Once rode into town in freezing weather - once - never again.

Oh good! I ignore dm - except for yours of course. I no longer have a vehicle, so it will go out sometime this week hopefully.

From your flakes. After a couple feedings and a bit of time, it looks good. I had the lid on a bit too tight and it had a nice build up of Co2. Lots of bubbles. I love 🫧

The way USA government & its propaganda machine always manages to pit minorities/communities against each other is both sad and predictable. It’s easy to distract from what we should be focusing on with division and scapegoating.

1/5 The "Golden Age," huh? Eggs are skyrocketing, life-saving meds may rise 10-1,000x, and millions of Americans face grim choices: food, shelter, or medicine. If this is golden, it’s fool’s gold—the kind that crumbles the second you touch it.

On Jan. 6, 2021, Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone lay stunned and injured on the ground of the U.S. Capitol building. He’d been Tasered several times in the back of the neck, and someone tried to rip away his gun. That’s when he heard someone say, “Kill him with his own gun.”

Law and order flouted. Justice delayed and denied. A nation of laws is broken and out of order. Freedom goes to the highest bidder. Our democracy turned into a sad joke but nobody feels like laughing except twisted oligarchs and liars they know joke is on us The punchline is brutal. #booksky #poetry
