I have a blue 18 inch plastic transparent T-square and yes I put it on my tablet monitor some times to have a straight line with my pressure sensitive brush.

I'm finishing a history of graphic design class and one of the points I made was in the 20th century, the language around design adopted a lot of scientific terms like "discovered," "developed," and "theory." i've always said science and art are the same thing: trying to learn about the universe.

only way to fix that? don't post until it's ready. right now, i'm not having a new comic until next week because i'd rather things be done right than just done. granted, in my early days when FNS was a side project, i joked it shouldn't take me longer to make it than it takes to read it.

a good mistake I've made in comics creation is being a slave to my update schedule when the way people read comics shifted. i would post stuff "on time" that really wasn't ready for prime time just because I thought it was more important to have something posted rather than the right thing posted.

@shaena.bsky.social is by far one of the best long-form web cartoonists with both Narbonic and Skin Horse. I'm glad she's made the jump to amazing graphic novels as a writer, because she's dang good ay using the strengths of comics as a writer.
