The first Crew Dragon flight was also an event, the sight of the launch and the two boosters returning and landing back at KSC was epic. Moon missions are just a whole different beast to tackle.

While I hate the guy just as much as everybody else, you can't really compare the current SpaceX missions with Artemis. Travelling beyond Earth's orbit will stay special for a significant time period, no matter who operates it and future Artemis missions will include SpaceX/BlueOrigin technology.
