Ah, yes, it 'only' made 8 million on PC. Unless the port cost 8 million to make, how is it "easy to see" that Sony wants exclusives? With the PC people buy playstations instead? No... the margins on consoles are razor thin. How do exclusives make Sony more money? www.msn.com/en-us/news/t...
The report estimates that Arc System Works’ title sold roughly 485,000 units by August 12, generating approximately $33 million in revenue, which is a solid result for a niche genre title

Breaking down the sales split, the report indicates that 74% of copies were sold on PlayStation 5, while the Steam port accounted for only 26%. Should these figures hold, it’s easy to see why Sony’s will stop releasing exclusives on PC.

So glad I decided to switch to Kobo recently. Wondering what "mandatory pre-arbitration dispute resolution" means? Fill out a notice form, a mandatory meeting with Amazon and 60 days of 'good faith' negotiations. Only after that do you get to the binding (and possibly expensive) arbitration phase.
Dear Amazon customer,

We are writing to let you know that we have updated our Conditions of Use, effective August 14, 2026. There are a few important changes you should note:

How disputes are resolved:
We have updated our Conditions of Use to include (i) a mandatory pre-arbitration dispute resolution procedure, and (ii) an arbitration agreement and class action waiver. This means that most legal disputes between you and us will be resolved through individual arbitration—a fast and efficient way to resolve concerns directly with us—rather than in court by a judge or jury. You may still go to small claims court, and if you choose to arbitrate, we will pay most of the cost.

I’m getting a lot of these spam mails currently. It sounds a bit like advice, but on closer read it says ‘as a content creator Google is f*cking you over, help them f*ck you over more’
58.5% of your Google visitors never reach your website!!

Hi Martinstellinga. Com,

Quick thing about Martinstellinga. Com—Your Google ranking looks good. But Google's own data says 58.5% of people never click any website now. AI gives them the answer directly.

Ranking on Google is no longer enough.

The smart move right now — get visible in AI search before your competitors do. Competition there is still very low.

So, we have three cats. Have a look at the picture. The thing is: only two of the cats in this picture are ours. The one on the left is not 😬

You could try turning off exhaustion, then back on again? If you click on the gear icon (top of attached screenshot) and set it to off (bottom of attached screenshots). But maybe the GM needs to do it... Not sure if it'll help either, it might not remove fields.

One of our cats like to go out and hunt… water lilies. He goes out, sometimes multiple times a day, fishes them out of the water around our neighborhood and drags them home, loudly proclaiming his success. So, this is from the last three days.

A true honor. As a blogger who wants to publish a book but has not done so, it is truly amazing that this reading circle found that my book ‘stood out’. I am honored that I finally got one of these emails. It makes me feel like a real author 🥳 (A warning, this is of course a scam.)
“As we prepare for our 2026 reading season, your book stood out to us as a strong candidate for consideration within our upcoming Reading Circle Literary Recognition. Each season, we thoughtfully select titles that resonate with our members through seasonal discussions, monthly featured reads, and ongoing weekly conversations designed to encourage deeper reflection and dialogue.”

This is code for rewriting my posts with ChatGPT and spawning reworded posts hoping to woo the search engine AIs, isn't it? Is this how AIs mate? One cooing a mating call of SEO and the other crawling all over my blog's naughty parts? Two AIs passing in the night, then having little Sam Altmans?

Was reading the IMDB age rating info on the new Fantastic Four movie. So... "is seated in a bathroom wearing a robe as she waits for a pregnancy test result" needed the clarification "this is non-sexual"... Who could read this and immediately go to "oh yeah, sexy times"? Am I the prude here?

Well Daniela, I'm amazed a recipe from by blog turned out yummy, since there are _zero_ recipes on my blog. I also do not find your air fryer recipe helpful for a blog post on screen time for children. But I suppose the word 'obesity' I use in said post is what drew your spam bot. Sigh.
Hi Martin -
I tried one of the recipes on your blog, and it turned out so yummy. Thank you! I also saved this Ninja air-fryer recipe guide for those busy nights when you want something healthy without the effort, and thought you might like it too:https://redacted

If you find it helpful, I’d love for you to share it with your readers, maybe here: martinstellinga.com/being-a-dad/screen-time/.

Best,
Daniela

About a year ago, I backed @brandonsanderson.com's Cosmere RPG, because I love the Stormlight Archives, RPGs, and painting miniatures. And today stuff arrived! Cheer! Now I just need more shelf space and time to paint a gazillion miniatures.

It's October 3rd, meaning that in my home town of Leiden we celebrate the end of the Spanish siege of the city in 1574. So, fun fair time! Note the stuffed toys at the shooting range, bottom right. Yes, those pink ones are what you think they are. It's the Netherlands.

The navigator works for me (see screenshot). However, that does require you to set the styles on chapter headers. In the screenshot I made sure 'Chapter 1' had style 'Heading 1' and 'Stuff' had style 'Heading 2'. Setting the font/font size directly won't work. Could that be the problem?

Got a newsletter in the mail starting with the statement from the screenshot. What theory? Who thinks this? _My_ theory is that letting an AI code whatever (vibe coding) and using that for IaC (setting up IT infrastructure) is an incredibly dumb idea and a huge security risk.
“In theory, vibe coding and IaC sound like the perfect match.”

Our dishwasher broke down last week, which sucked. It was 14 years old, so it was going to happen at some point. The new one projects the time left in the program on the floor. Not very useful, but it's still cool and mesmerising!
