An advert on Instagram for the second Thraxas audio book. Smaller than the young Stephen Fry, but at least Audible are making an effort and I apppreciate that. The third Audio book will be released in November. 📚🪐

The second Thraxas audio book has just been published by Audible. Thraxas and the Warrior Monks. Here’s the cover, I like their artist’s versions of Thraxas and Makri. 📚🪐

Audible bought the first four Thraxas books for audio books. The first one is available now. These are the first audio versions of any of my books. It’s not me reading them which is good as I’d have been bad at it. I like the reader they chose. I like their imagining of Thraxas and Makri too. 📚🪐

Three Elric paperbacks by Michael Moorcock, present from my brother. Elric was a great character. I’ve borrowed two things from him. Makri’s grim black sword in Thraxas and werewolf Dominil Macrinnalch’s white hair. I’d been waiting a long time to write a white-haired character because of Elric.📚🪐

This map of London’s literary characters features three of mine: Lonely Werewolf Girl, Lux the Poet & Alby Starvation. Close to the large Hercule Poirot near the foot of the map in the centre. I’m pleased some of my characters are here. The illustrator’s site is at bit.ly/3Y1NDad #booksky

R.I.P. Soo Catwoman. I am so sorry to hear about this. Soo Catwoman (Susan Lucas) was such a notable figure, one of the most famous images of the whole punk era.

My copy of New Rose, first single by the Damned. I remember buying this so well. I'd been buying records since I was twelve or so but when this came out everything else seemed quite old-fashioned. So R.I.P. Brian James, guitarist.

Curse of the Wolf Girl & the Anxiety of Kalix the Werewolf, books 2 and 3 in my werewolf trilogy. Curse of the Wolf Girl is a comic Kalix reads. The Anxiety of Kalix the Werewolf's title was inspired by The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, a Japanese light novel and anime series. #booksky

Lux and Alby Sign On and Save the Universe. These nine comics I wrote in 1991 have had a surprisingly long life. They were collected into a graphic novel in 1999 and I released a new edition in 2019 with the artist @simonfraser.bsky.social. We still sell this at Amazon. #booksky

'The Collected Martin Millar.' My publisher at the time, Fourth Estate, published this in 1998. I don't think they even consulted me about it. I didn't like the cover at first but it's grown on me over the years. #booksky

Excited to announce I've published a collection of #shortstories – the ones I couldn't use any more because they're previously published, been placed in competitions, or both. Rainy Sunday? Stay indoors and read! Available on Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble etc... buff.ly/3DJiu4n

Lonely Werewolf Girl has been film-optioned for a few years now. Often that doesn't mean much - a producer buys the option then no film gets made. However, the option is with a credible company and it's possible it could happen. Here's Lonely Werewolf Girl with The Runaways, Kalix's favourite band.
