11 years ago today, Merlin joined us. Fabulous.

The final September 2026 #Caturday EggDay for Merlin. And his Lordship was unhappy about being kept waiting…

It’s a very special day on BBC Radio 3 - a 12 hour odyssey, broadcasting live from lighthouses around the UK. It’s going to be epic. I’m very proud to have played a small part in this, creating the on air promos for the day. 🗼🎶

Mr Worf, should I put some laundry on?

010

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

The third #caturday EggDay for Merlin of September 2026. And his Lordship was a tad grumpy this morning. As was Her Majesty (but she’s grumpiness in a furry coat, at the best of times).

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Sunday, with a cat, a coffee, and a book.

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

The second #caturday EggDay for Merlin of September 2026. It’s lovely now, but this morning was rather autumnal.

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

The first #caturday EggDay for Merlin of September 2026. And the Bovine Choir was in fine form, early this morning.

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

Sunday bake. A small wholemeal sourdough loaf. And one mini “leftovers” focaccia (using up some leftover dough, so I’m not expecting much).

060

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

Today’s bake: One tear & share garlic bread (with basil), and one tear & share cheese and garlic bread (with oregano). As ever, I have been totally cack-handed with the garlic measurements.

The final #Caturday EggDay for Merlin of August 2026. And the weather has turned a bit, today.

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

Merlin is not allowed on any of the beds. So, naturally, here is Merlin on one of the beds.

110

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

The 4th #Caturday EggDay for Merlin of August 2026. After a week of him being not quite himself (a burst abscess on his shoulder), he’s back on fine purring form this morning.

111

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

As an experiment, I have today made pesto, cheese, basil, and tomato focaccia.

We had a really rather lovely time at the Lough Erne Resort, last night. A fantastic meal at the Catalina Restaurant, with exemplary service from James, Callum, Rosie, and the team. Five star dining in the heart of Fermanagh.

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

The third #caturday EggDay for Merlin of August 2026. Vocal as ever.

131

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

A bit like our cats, exiting the litter tray

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

Sunday, with a cat, a coffee, and a book.

110

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

It’s the second #Caturday EggDay for Merlin of August 2026. And some freshly-made schiacciata for me, instead of toast (my first attempt at making it).

140

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Herby Hasselback? Isn’t he that actor from Baywatch and Knight Rider.

010

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

This was on the telly, earlier. I was rather disappointed to discover it wasn’t a series about celebrities moving to Transylvania to live with Dracula.

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

The first #caturday EggDay for Merlin of August 2026. The last egg in the house! And Maj is around. Just camera shy. I bought a new cat bed… for Merlin. And she’s claimed it as hers - it’s her new favourite place. (She also has 4 other beds around the house!)

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

RIP Tom Chadbon. One of those people that popped up on the TV a lot over the years - and someone I associate with two of my favourite TV shows from the late 70s. Such a gorgeous voice, too. Loved his audio work.

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

The last #caturday EggDay for Merlin of July 2026. And it’s a grey one today! (He’s especially grumpy because I was up rather late this morning).

140

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 19/07/2026

It’s too hot to be baking bread, so - naturally - that’s what I’ve been doing. A little #sourdough with Italian herbs sandwich loaf.

031

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

The third #caturday EggDay for Merlin of July 2026. Maj is missing, presumed fed (well, asleep in the flower bed, at any rate). And lots of noisy birds in the field.

030

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 11/07/2026

The second #Caturday EggDay for Merlin of July 2026. And Madamarama (AKA Maj) is hiding from the sun.

031

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

The first #caturday EggDay for Merlin of July 2026. And for Maj, it’s a case of “She Who Snoozes*, Loses”. *like she’s blowing on a kazoo.

141

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 28/06/2026

Sundried tomato & olive focaccia rolls. A bit half-arsed today, hence the different shapes and sizes.

020

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 27/06/2026

The last #caturday EggDay for Merlin of June 2026, and after a few very summery days, it’s turned wet & windy again.

140

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 20/06/2026

The penultimate #caturday EggDay for Merlin of June 2026. Finally some nice weather! And Maj chomps her way in too.

061

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 15/06/2026

🚨 #DoctorWho audio drama sale (including some titles I worked on)! Special offer pricing ends 23:59 (UK, Earth time) 21 June 2026. Fill your boots. Or your hard drive. Whichever is easiest. www.bigfinish.com/collections/...

063

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 14/06/2026

A bit of an experiment today: a ciabatta-styled wholemeal #sourdough loaf… …if that’s not too much of a contradiction in terms / fusion too far!

060

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

This is one for the #doctorwho fans. Which, for you, is the most Third Doctory of all the Third Doctor TV stories? When Pertwee was at his best, when the interaction with his companion was at its most endearing, and where the story really summed up his era of Doctor Who?

300

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

The second #caturday EggDay for Merlin of June 2025. The weather is at best described as “changeable”. (Other descriptions are also available).

131

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

Well, to borrow a quote from the series: “One day, I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs… and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine.”

131

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 07/06/2026

Well, it looks like it’s shaping up to be another fantastic summer day. Sigh.

010

Martin Montague @martinm-media.bsky.social · 06/06/2026

The first #caturday EggDay of June 2026. And Merlin is not impressed with the weather.
