🌱⚡🔬#RootStressWeek Locating the microbes along the maize root system under nitrogen limitation: a root phenotypic approach by Tania Galindo-Castañeda et al. in @annbot.bsky.social #freeaccess article 👉 doi.org/qjts @martinhartmann.bsky.social @taniagalindoc.bsky.social #RootBiology #PlantScience
Root architecture and microbes work together to shape nitrogen acquisition: maize shows distinct microbial communities across depths and root types, and traits like lateral root branching strongly correlate with N-cycling microbes. Targeting root–microbe synergies could boost crop N efficiency and agricultural sustainability.

🌟 It’s a great honour to receive this recognition for my work. This would not have been possible without the unwavering support from my colleagues in the SAE group @saegroupethz.bsky.social and the USYS department @usyseth.bsky.social at @ethz.ch, and all amazing collaborators around the world.

🚀 Using data from a 40-year field trial, we show that organic cropping systems not only transform soil biodiversity but also supercharge its metabolic potential for nutrient cycling with lasting consequences for soil C, N, and P stocks. 🌾 #SustainableAgriculture #SoilHealth doi.org/10.1016/j.so...
