Preview Excerpt: Ratio rolls his eyes. “On top of me, gambler.”

Aventurine freezes.

“What?” Ratio asks to his silence, flipping the page of his book. “You clearly were not enjoying yourself last time, so let’s do it this way. Unless, of course, you’d rather not do it at all—fine by me. Just keep your mouth shut so that I can enjoy my reading time.”

“No, I,” Aventurine begins, then falters. “But you’re the one who’s supposed to be on top.”

He realizes how ridiculous he sounds as soon as the words leave his mouth.

“And why is that?”

Aventurine has no answer for him.

A preview for my #ratiorine piece "The Quiet of your Hands" in the NSFW half of @martingalezine.bsky.social !! Pre-orders are open!!<3

A preview for my piece in the nsfw half of the Martingale Zine:
"It could be the whiskey, or the warm breath against his skin. Maybe it’s those hands and the care with which they piece Aventurine together, or something else entirely. Something that slowly, steadily burns low in his stomach—a quiet ache that slips out as a soft, involuntary sound.
Ratio’s voice cuts through the haze.
“Does it hurt?”
Yes.
“No,” Aventurine grits out.
While Ratio’s presence is a welcome distraction from the sting of his injuries, it only amplifies a different, more profound pain. It digs deeper, a hollow ache sinking its claws into his soul, unwilling to relent.
What truly hurts is this; sitting mere breaths apart, skin brushing skin, so close, yet so impossibly far from what he truly wants."

here's the preview for my piece "Achillies' Tendencies" in the NSFW half of the @martingalezine.bsky.social zine! Pre-orders are open now! This one is a BANGER, y'all~ #ratiorine #aventio #goldenratiohsr #raturine

A preview for Legendaerie's fic for the Martingale Zine:
"Their interactions settle into habit. Aventurine leans into Ratio's personal space, pushing boundaries others dare not touch for fear of a pillar dropped on their skull, and Ratio lectures Aventurine on topics well beyond his scope of understanding. More than once their antics draw the gaze of horrified onlookers as they argue about ethics and philosophy, one earnest and engaged and the other laughing with his eerie lightless eyes.
In some cultures, there are spectator sports where a man baits a dangerous animal into a performance. Dancing around their violent movements, coaxing out bites and blows and charges with choreographed movements.
Perhaps that's why Aventurine likes their arguments so much. It's a welcome change to be the hand and not the animal."
